I'm suprised you didn't know Jim that Kollins did the concept sketch which incidenty was the illustation for Nova's profile in the Nova Corps Files. Wonder if we'll get an updated Conquest version. Anyway if Nova ever decides to upgrade his costume this was my own interpretation of the next new look, combining the classic and armour designs.

EDIT: Actually I was thinking since Nova's going to be recruiting new Corpsmen over the next couple issues (I think), instead of giving every Nova Centurion the standard issue Nova Uniform look they could all make their own looks like Nova did when he made the "Kid Nova" costume. This would be a great design for one.

I did it a while ago as it was a debate on the Nova message board run by Nova 64 where we were discussing ways to try and combine elements of the classic costume with the present Annihilation one. If I ever do decide to do a on-line fan-strip for Nova this would be the one he'd be wearing not that I dislike the Annihilation one but its less spikey and easier to do!

I did not know Kollins did the sketch. All I know is that the first time I saw the uniform it was drawn by Kev Walker. The last time I saw Kollins work on Nova, he did the tattered classic Nova suit at the end of Prologue.

I've done more Nova fan art than any other character Jimmy but I don't do it as often as I'd like because of work, hence why I've decided to do a bit of writing instead but I am working on a new piece at present. Above is a concept sketch; it's my rendition of that final panel where Nova is hovering over the Earth..but as yet I haven't done one of him in battle so it's well overdue. All my art incidently is computer generated over pencil sketches.

I like his new suit. It's simple without looking simple, and by toning down the yellow you create a focus point for the eyes to settle on. I think he should keep it; if he does recreate the Nova corps and keeps their uniforms the same as they were before the Annihilation war, his current suit will also help him to stand out visually among them.

Do you count the minor Chen redesigns as totally original? Although I don't really like the new helmet, with the flairing at the bottom.

I'm 50-50 with the helmet design at present. I pefered Di-Vitos more classic interpretation than Chen's so when I draw it I tend to lessen the flares a bit.
