Anyone else happy to hear about the reformation, upcoming tour and plans for new material?

Your post is the first I'd heard of it! I'm cautiously excited by the news though.
The Verve were an absolutely awesome band...head & shoulders above anything Richard Ashcroft's done on his own since their demise.
I just hope that if they do reform and record an album it's not a dud. The last time they reformed after a split they made the masterful Urban Hymns album, their most well known work.
If the new stuff's as good as that album, I'll be well chuffed!

You should read the General Music Update thread I maintain here on the Music board. I posted about it this morning. There's an article link there as well.
I heard about it on Virgin Radio this morning and was really pleased.
I have pretty much all of their rather limited number of recordings in one form or another and really wouldn't mind a new album one bit.

I hope it doesn't end up being rubbish or shambolic as they were in their end days. My favourite Verve moment was seeing Richard Ashcroft play the gig of his life at T In The Park in 1995 then collapse into a steaming heap just offstage.

Good news. I love Urban Hymns and have just been getting into their older stuff. Glad they're back!
