Fuko from Flame of Recca.

In the Phillipine dub , they actually changed her name to Aira because how it would be pronounced in English (well, using consonant sounds...).

Laputa-Castle in the Sky
Literary fun fact: Laputa was originally a floating city in Jonathan Swift's "Gulliver's Travels". While venturing through the city, Gulliver found it occupied by absent-minded geniuses, whose wives had left the city to pursue sexual encounters on land. Swift knew exactly what 'Laputa' means in Spanish. That wasn't unintentional at all.

LOL

I know all about Swift´s Gulliver, a couple years ago there was that show with Ted Danson starring as Gulliver..... let´s just say that when they aired the Laputa episode, I couldn´t keep a straight face during the entire 40 minutes:

"- Welcome to the floating island of Laputa."

One of my first jobs was working for a now-defunct camping supply store, where they sold Victorinox Swiss Army Knives. Each model had its own name-- and I swear they sounded like names you'd give vibrators. Like:

The Explorer, The Executive, The Tinker, The Pocket Pal, The Adventurer, and my favorite... The Mauser.

Corey Dreher

For the Mexican dub of InuYasha, Kagome had to be renamed Aome, because her original name sounded too much like cagome, which can be taken as 'I shit myself'.

Well, maybe a combination of it sounding somewhat ambigously . . .I don't know about cool IMO, but maybe one of the names like "Dick" means something else that would sound cool in usage in another language like German, perhaps?

Hahaha, if only I could grow out my facial hair some more. My current name means, "Heavenly" or "Celestial Dragon." The "tien" is the same as the Japanese "ten" (y'know, like the symbol on the back of Akuma).

I WISH!!! Unlike me, he can pull off a full Asian beard, rather than a bunch of wispy whiskers!

Anyway, I hate to mention this guy's name, since I'm a big fan, but Iron Fist, taken in the wrong context, could sound a little too PG-13.
