It just so happened that the episode I've been looking forward to watching since the JLU schedule was released happened to be the only one I missed. Hope I remember that encore presentation tomorrow.

Damn you Alan Moore and your engaging reading!

I like how the episode was a sort of pseudo-sequel to the last episodes of Superman. Two things of note though, I was confused by the whole reporter thing for a bit, because I thought he was supposed to be Vic Sage. Also, I think they were going a bit more for Rorsharch than Question.

How so? If it had been Rorsharch he'd have been very much against working with anyone. And he'd have put the reporter and the ex-imilitary guy in the hospital.

I liked the nod to old continuity and the hint that more is to come, but I thought the episode was lacking. It was a little odd that the Question was always justified in his paranoia, and Green Arrow was kind of wasted.

What's up with The Question singing before he threw that plant through the glass? Just felt odd. Was that Combs?

And yeah, Combs rules. His voice was perfect for the part.

I liked the episode a lot. It was especially reassuring since, not counting For the Man Who Has Everything (which wasn't an original story), so far the best episodes have been silly or humorous ones - this one proves that they can do dark and oppressive stories, as well. And the episode was surprisingly dark - the JLU world suddenly seems like a lot more sinister place.

I also liked the references to ADCU history. Emil Hamilton aligning himself with the military was a real surprise to me - especially since I suspected it myself, but then discarded the thought. It does make sense, though, given the events of Legacy.

Oh, and did anyone notice that the robot sent to assassinate Supergirl was obviously an early prototype of Zeta, from Batman Beyond?

Remember when he said he had deduced that boy bands were all part of the big conspiracy? I think they were playing with that wacky theory and tossing in some fun irony at the same time (he thinks they're a conspiracy, yet he knows all the words and can sing along without thinking about it - so even Vic Sage has fallen into their trap!)

Funny, I always thought Combs would make a great Metron but what do I know?

I don't know if this version of the Question is 100% faithful to the original Ditko version but I thought it was cool. Strange how Arrow and Q weren't comparing conspiracy theories. You'd think Ollie wouldn't trust anyone in power. Also, did anyone else spot Kolchak the Night Stalker cameo? You had to be watching closely but during that bar scene he was there.

Also the ep implied that the reporter was essencially in bed with Power Girl (yes, he's in the running for Luckiest Man Alive), a little adult but well done.

Oh, and the reason why the Question was humming that teen pop song was because it was playing in that taxi he was using to interrogate that guy.

Liked the fight at the end and yes I noticed the ripped clothes. Thank you Cartoon Network!

The torn cothing wasn't gratuitous.

You notice there was a hole torn in the upper middle of Supergirl's shirt, and Powergirl's midriff was exposed? That was to mirror the hole in the upper middle of Powergirl's costume and Supergirl's exposed midriff.

I see it as his way of keeping under the radar from "Them". Sure he says that boy bands are part of the conspiracy, but that time he was alone, he showed his true colors. Who takes a crazy conspiracy theorist seriously? He's the kind of guy who would have a radio tuned into Coast to Coast & have the tuner broken & then have a walkman in his desk so he could listen to the Top 40's.

Kevinroc

The whole "giant conspiracy" has been done before. Quite often. So I don't think it gives this episode much points for actual originality. And I wonder if the creative team ever plans to do anything with that (tired of seeing these kinds of plots and then never having them conclude). I also thought it was strange to build a whole story off of Supergirl's coma from the end of Superman: TAS (there are a ton of other plot threads I would like to see expanded upon before that one).

That said, this episode was quite enjoyable. The team of Supergirl, Green Arrow and The Question really made it worth while. I liked their interaction. And bringing in Power Girl (as a clone of Supergirl no less) was a great nod to comic fans.

Because it sounded like "Karatea" when I heard it, which would pretty much combine with the appearance to make her Power Girl.

And, as near as I can tell from a quick google, comics Galatea has nothing in common with the character on the show, making the Powergirl connection a lot more solid.

Who in the world is Galatea? Y'know, they had an episode with Amazo in which they never called the character by name and in which the design of the character didn't match the original from the comics, but it was very clear to any longtime DC fan that it was Amazo.

I think it's a little silly and anal to argue that 'technically' this character can't be Power Girl when it very blatantly and obviously is. If they want to change the character name to Galatea that's fine because 'Power Girl' always had a ring of supergirl wannabe about it anyway.

This is what I liked most about this episode, the dead on characterizations and renewed focus on some muddled, neglected, and ill-defined DC Characters. Who is Power Girl supposed to be Post-Crisis anyway? It's been a looooooong time since Crisis and I don't think DC has ever figured out what to do with the character. But in 'Fearful Symmetry' all of a sudden, not only is Power Girl redefined in a way that finally makes sense, she's also for the first time ever a character that was interesting to me.

Same with The Question. I've known about the character for a quite awhile, but have known nothing about him nor have I cared to, other than the fact he was the loose inspiration for Rorshach. But the makers of Justice League were able to turn that around in a single episode by folding a little bit of Rorshach back into The Question. It now completes a circle (and almost painfully obvious direction for the character considering his doppleganger Rorshach's enduring popularity) and has instantly made this character come to life.

Cool sub-plots. Amazing characterizations. Great episode.

Actually, there was a blueprint or some sort of schematic where it said A.M.A.Z.O. Forgot what it actually stood for, but although it wasn't "said," it was made clear, if nobody got it.

But yeah, great episode. I really like Jeffrey Combs's voicework on The Question. The line "Please, I look through everyone's trash" was the greatest line in the episode. Hope there's a sequel to this story/arc.

It's probably a reference to the Roman myth of Pygmalion and Galatea, in which the former sculpts the latter, and begs Venus to animate her. After all, like Galatea in the story is Pygmalion's creation, Power Girl is Hamilton's.

Now that's more like it.

Jeffrey Coombs was note perfect as the Question, and man I hope they have him around more.

One thing, I wasn't the least bit surprised that the S.T.A.R. Labs doctor was in on the clone busines. It was too obvious.

The Question was never that fond of working in teams, he's a bit of a loner so i was a bit surprised to see that he had a room aboard the satellite.

Also the Green Arrow/Question dynamic was a little off. They are a counter for each other. But their sensibilities are quite similar so Ollie would not have scorned him quite so much.

Don't pass judgement just yet, there are still plenty of episodes left in which he might have a more active role. Heck, the Flash hasn't even spoken a single line yet.

OTOH, Martian Manhunter is pretty much the JLU's Weatherman right now. That's not a bad position.

I don't know about low superhuman strength. He gave that HUGE snake one punch in 'Paradise Lost' and it was TKO'd. Even The Flash gave him a compliment after that.

Loved it.

Started off a little weird, but the episode turned really awesome about half-way through.

The best part, though, was seeing the Question (who I can't help but think of as Rorschach) quite calmly and matter-of-factly smashing through the glass window while humming the faux-Britney Spears song. I just about rolled off my couch giggling :).
