This month in “X-Men” #200 the cast must deal with the return of an old and highly lethal threat, the Marauders. CBR News spoke with writer Mike Carey about the coming clash.

If there's one thing to admire about Carey, he loves giving interviews and talking to fans. :)
Looks like we got an answer for the missing issue of X-Men in the checklists...

Yet another interview which fails to mention Frenzy. :( However, he states Blockbuster's in the group, which is surprising since I thought for sure he'd be the one not appearing. Who is left, then, if all the original Marauders have been shown on the cover aside from Scrambler and Blockbuster, who were both mentioned in the interview?

I think its Creed. Wolverine is going to kill him in his book.

LOL I didn't even notice the bed! What a trollop!
But yeah, I guess it is Sabretooth, though I figured since he is still around kinda/sorta now that he'd make an appearance. But whatevs, it's hit or miss with Blockbuster around. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want him to be the first Marauder to bite the dust.

I've really become a Carey fan, he's done an amazing job on X-Men. If a writer can get me interested in characters I have previously not been (like Lady Mastermind and Karima), then he's doing a damn fine job. Also, even though they have been separate arcs to his run, the whole series has flown together seamlessly.

Except one of them. It seemed like it was gonna be Blockbuster. But Mike just confirmed him. So it really is Creed, who we didn't expect to be there anyway... considering his current outsville relationship with Sinister.

Except, of course, for the fact that we have seen Emma sleep with only one person, whom she happens to be romantically involved with.
He mentioned Scrambler, but when asked about X-Men switching sides, did not mention Emma....
Because Emma is not changing sides. I thought after the solicitations and Alonso releasing some spoilers, people would have abandoned this theory already.

Possibly. But this paragraph makes me think that perhaps we are jumping to conclusions about Cable's fate:
Cable was dealt a devastating blow in the “Condition Critical” and “Fractured” storylines. Providence, the island nation Cable created as part of his mission to build a better world, was almost completely destroyed and many of its citizens killed. The destruction of Providence will continue to affect Cable and the X-Men in both “X-Men” and “Cable & Deadpool.” “It's a situation that continues to be significant,” Carey stated. “You haven't seen the end of that yet."
Now I'm not sure when this interview was conducted, perhaps it was awhile back and what he actually means there is that it will continue to affect Cable and the X-men until issue #200."

Yeah the Cable comments left me curious too. Perhaps Carey is trying to deflect some of the theories about Cable dying, though at this point it seems kind of late.

Definitely. I'm more pumped about this issue than I've been about a comic in a long time. Probably since Ultimate X-men #1 debuted and got me back into comics years ago.
Astonishing has been my favorite X-men title since it began, but the delays have really hurt my interest in that book. Meanwhile, Mike Carey has just been delivering solid issue after solid issue, month in and month out. He's even got me eagerly anticipating the fate of Cable, which is something I never thought I'd be doing!
And on top of all that, I feel pretty certain that Wolverine will show up somewhere in this issue. If not, definitely in this arc.:)

Northstar was revived by the Hand, then rescued by SHIELD; Rogue helped successfully deprogram him in this year's X-Men Annual.
As for Dazzler, Carey said in an interview that he might be interested in using Longshot someday but never "got" Dazzler. So unless he was being intentionally misleading, I doubt it.
