I didn't like his interior artwork? I dunno maybe I'm getting confused. The issue where viper is gonna blow up the queen or something (ROLLSEYES) lol was horrid.
Whoever drew the issue with Rachel vs Emma was AMAZING. Andy Park? Did I make that up? Ed Benes is cool too. what is he doing?
And German Garcia.

I actually enjoyed Coipel more than Andy Park. Hmmm...

I don't know what Garcia is doing, but Benes is on Justice League.

TISNF WHY DONT WE GET THAT JAWESOME COVER

We got stuck with shitty Greg Land covers when Coipel was doing Uncanny! That GOD SAVE THE QUEEN MURDERWORLD arc is actually my favorite peice of Claremont work since he returned to the X-Books. It's so suprlol and I thought the art just made it suPERB.

IMO Coipel should take over Astonishing. His sense of anatomy is great, and then he adds style and character to their poses, thier faces. their costumes, EVERYTHING. Love him. Picking up Thor just for his art.

I guess since he's French (or is he Haitian? I remember something about him and France) he drew a special cover for them. I would love that as a poster! SO JEALOUS.

i think he's french.

i also wish this cover was used for the american release over land's.

coipel and cheung would work well together as rotating artists for a title.

Ditto... getting stiff Land tracings in place of it's like the ultimate insult. :/

<3 <3 Copiel's Cannonball. Actually, his Rogue was amazing in HOM too... if Bachalo ever wants to move on, they should pair Carey with Copiel.

I REALLY miss Coipel. Why does Thor get to have such a great artist to his self?

Wasn't he at one point supposed to take over Ultimate X-men?

Man, I really wish that had happened.:(

That is a wonderful cover! Yikes I love it, especially Cannonball!

But, upon closer viewing...that issue was 3 euros! That's like six or seven bucks! Yeesh. I thought paying 3 dollars was a rip. And even worse when i go to England.
I shall never complain again.

Nope, he was suppossed to be alternating arcs on Uncanny with Davis. Then he got scooped up for HOM and Raney was suppossed to be the new alternate (blech!).

I love Coipel, and I really think he's draws the best Storm since Cockrum/Byrne. I hope he eventually returns to the X-Men.

I don't know if he draws the best Storm. Joe Mad drew a perfect one but he absolutely draws the best Lorna Dane to date.

Copiel's Lorna, Ororo, Wanda, Meggan, Carol and Rogue are all A+++++++

His Rachel needs some help, but really only Bachalo's been able to make that tranwreck work. :/

I love that cover but I hate that they used such dull colors for this one. His only great work with the colorist (Jose Villarubia) was when he did the Stan Lee Meets: Spider-Man book but he should be only paired with Frank D'Armata or the person coloring his Thor book.

And yeah I missed his X-Men work as well, his two issue arc with Claremont was awesome and don't even get me started on his HoM stuff, just gorgeous. The only thing that irritates me sometimes is that his panel layouts get really crazy and all over the place, making it harder to follow than it should.

3 euros is like $4.50
and the comics there work differently,

it says, x-men, but it will have a few issues in them, maybe all one story, or an issue of x-factor, and one of cable, etc etc.

so it's not just one book.

but it's in french.

our books also come out there at the same time. in engish.

I like the European way of publishing comics better, more for your money. Yeah they're not in English but hey if you can read it in French or Italian then its a good deal :P

Joe Mad doesn't draw a perfect anything, especially not Storm. Ick.

AW, man. That SUCKS. We got stuck with Raney for that! I could have seen crazy cool panels in the Mojo arc! Imagine?

I love Coipel, and I really think he's draws the best Storm since Cockrum/Byrne. I hope he eventually returns to the X-Men.

I totally agree in that his Storm is just so AWESOME. When she was confronting that black lady with Kurt, Ororo looked regal and divine. And on that Black Panther cover, too, she needed some clothes but otherwise just looked so great. Sitting in a tree. But that didn't matter!

I don't know if he draws the best Storm. Joe Mad drew a perfect one but he absolutely draws the best Lorna Dane to date.

Really? I didn't find his Lorna all too cool in that House of M jazz jewelry and draped fabrics and all that. Did he draw her normal at any point?

Copiel's Lorna, Ororo, Wanda, Meggan, Carol and Rogue are all A+++++++

His Rachel needs some help, but really only Bachalo's been able to make that tranwreck work. :/

I like his Rachel! She's cute. And definitely A+++++++++ on everyone he does. I like EVERY character he does!

<SNIP>The only thing that irritates me sometimes is that his panel layouts get really crazy and all over the place, making it harder to follow than it should.

Villarubia colored his New Avengers Civil War tie-in and it looked AWFUL. I didn't like it at all. But the preview pages from that Stan Lee book looked AWESOME so maybe I'm wrong for that book. D'Armata's coloring for me is only tolerable with Coipel and maybe Finch, otherwise its garish and too bright and glossy (ie. Tan on Uncanny looked ridiculous). Thor coloring looks good, too.

I ADORE his panels! It's like a Westernized Manga panel type thing! It's really cool and I enjoy it a lot, it's dynamic and sometimes hard to follow but in the end, it makes the book worth it.

CONCLUSION: I love Coipel and he needs to be on an X-Book soon.

Lorna in stomach revealing Princess gowns with the royal jewels around her was the best sight of 2005 behind the House of M visual in #6.

I hated the way the NA Civil War Tie in was colored as well.

As far as Frank D goes, I really can't imagine Tan's work looking any better without it, I feel that it enhaces his art but that's just me. Oh and you forgot to add Steve Epting and Mike Perkins to the "looks great under Frank D" camp.

;)

CONCLUSION: I love Coipel and he needs to be on an X-Book soon.
I'd like to see him on a book like X-Men or Astonishing myself at some point but I would let him do the Thor stuff first since I can't wait to see his modern redesigns of that aspect of Marvel.
