It only took Carey two panels to make Gambit a better character than he's been for the last 3 or so years. I also like the Scalphunter/Vertigo scene in New Orleans and the interaction between Lady M and Karima. Looks like #200's on the right track.

I can see right now that Ramos' art is gonna steal the show in the book. That Bachelo art is a sad sight.

nah. chris bachalo has something going for him that ramos does not: a basic knowledge of anatomy and design. ramos' characters all look to be shifting arouns in their own bodies. it's creepy and unattractive.
i personally think that chris will steal the show.

Yeah when his charater's talk/shout there mouth's are big enough that you could fit a watermelon in it.

Plus he made Rogue in her itsy bitsys look. . .unattractive IMO.

It worked for me on DV8 and it's not that bad in that preview. Bachelo's faces are horrible and he needs a new inker to bring out better expressions.

Man, I'm really fired up to find out what happens on Wednesday and whether or not the character that everyone thinks is going to die is actually going to die! Looks to be the case, but it still doesn't fit with Axel Alonso's comments about wanting to make Cable popular again.

If it wasn't for that I'd be 100% sold that he/she is the character who is going to die, though. And if it turns out that that's the case, I wonder what changed?

Yeah, the mouths are one thing that bugs me as well as the gigundous feet and the really small heads/really thick arms.

The only time I've ever really liked Ramos was on Impulse way back in the day. I think it had something to do with it being a funnier, cartoonier book and the style fitting better. OR my tastes have just changed, i dunno. :)

I disagree, though, about Bachalo's faces being terrible. I think he does very well constructed, sensitively drawn faces. I've always loved them especially out of everything he does. Though, admittedly, he does do some weird stuff on them sometimes....

Yeah, I guess you could be right. I mean, of all X-characters, it did strike me as kind of strange and random that he seemed most interested in restoring Cable, Bishop and Forge.
