Is there anything you all have read or watched that is in the upper echelon of its respective media and would recommend? This doesn't have to be an introduction to anime or manga, but just really good stuff that may have slipped the interest of other people. ^_^?

I'm recommending Judas (manga) (http://chasingculture.com). It starts off a little "too much too soon"-ish, but the comedy elements with Eve and Judas really help smooth these wrinkles. Judas is about the title character, Judas, and his curse. To free himself and regain his corporeal body, he must kill 666 people. Since he's incorporeal and, thus, cannot touch anything, he uses Eve (who is commonly mistaken for a girl as Judas forces Eve to dress up as a girl, amongst other more perverse activities). When Eve bleeds, Judas can then force Eve to do his bidding and kill. It has not been said whether Judas can make Eve kill without bleeding Eve, or if Eve has killed for Judas without such control, but it should be assumed since Eve has let Judas take over his (her, if you're all caught up with the reading) body for said perverse goodies. If you have not yet read the manga, then you may want to stop here. In Volume 2, it is revealed that Peter and the other apostles of Jesus Christ (other than Judas) intend to open the gate to Eden. In order to do that they must open the seven seals by causing the Seven Calamities. Peter is such a dick. It makes me sad that there are only five volumes in this series. Volume 3 was released today, June 12, so anyone can still get in the game. ^_~

Holy crap. I love it when mangaka try to adapt Christianity and the Bible into some kinda of crazy adventure story. It sometimes just gets so stupid and they just plain get so many ideas wrong. Ha.

While it sounds like a fun story, this has got to be one of the stupidest Bible adaptations I've heard from a manga. It makes The Da Vinci Code sound like official Christian Canon.

Then again, I do enjoy some of them as just fun. Chrono Crusade and their adaptation of Mary Magdeline is another good example.
