I like it a lot. Could be from an interior of an old War of the Worlds novel.
Older digital painting, slightly updated. For some odd reason impasto doesn't translate well when i upload these things to photobucket .. there's a lot more texture in the original.

Odd, keep losing a lot of texture when sending it to photobucket .. haven't seen that before with other stuff i downloaded to there though perhaps those weren't as refined as this. In the original you can see individual leaves and stuff .. :/

Very different but for some reason it reminds me of the Pink Floyd album cover of Saucerful of Secrets.
This picture has power.
Do you have a story behind this pro or did you just do it?
Do you have a story behind this pro or did you just do it?
It's called Hangman Hill. The basic storyidea behind it is a small village in a fantasy setting whose inhabitants are terrified by wizards and witches.
Suffice to say in a fantasy setting their paranoia is not entirely unjustified and more than a few innocent strangers accidentally wandering into the village end up on Hangman Hill.

Seconded. And that Rocky landscape has an air of sword and sorcery I really like... A great setting indeed.
So a request to see more water associated scenes gets a response like that! Wow, even more impressed! That piece has all the elements for a modern, thrilling, high seas graphic novel ala Cap'n Ahab! Did a sea monster and an alien mate or something? Wicked good stuff, Pro!
The Fishing for Monsters pict was fairly easy. I already had the parts. I created the 3d monster a while back but never finished it. Already had a photo of the boat, then roughly painted in the sea. The rest was mostly photoshop filters to make the pict one whole. I used very little color and kept it all very dark. It was actually just intended as forestudy before I was going to do a final composite but it turned out pretty well on its own.

So would I! I have no real experience with print techniques other than with an actual printer though. I could print it on an overhead plastic sheat though. Might try that out sometime. It's definitely worth doing. I haven't really explored all the possibilities myself, beyond printing on watercolour paper and metallic paper, but the options are pretty mindblowing.

Awesome looking work Pro. I wish i was better at making custom photoshop brushes. Some great looking textures in your work.

Thanks, really like your work as well. And yea custom brushes are awesome, only discovered them a few weeks ago. I take a digital camera with me most places I go to and just take snapshots of any texture I can find and turn them into brushes.

Dang Pro...you seem to keep outdoing yourself everytime. It kinda looks like you may have used the same brush as you did with the underwater scene...is it?
Actually this was the original picture, this one i did before the previously shown picture. This (unfinished) pict is supposed to be a magma planet shown from topview down for some online game I have in mind. I'll use it as texture in Zbrush where I can make the landscape 3-dimensional quite easy by using sculpting brushes in pretty much the same way as in photoshop except 3-dimensionally.
After finishing this texture I changed the colors, started adding other brushes, used the Liquify filter and added light effects till it became a tunnel of light.

Nice post Pro! looking good. It's amazing the kind of stuff you can do with the brushes. I love them. That underwater scene is nice.

y'oughta call that one "down the rabbit hole"
Originally I went for a cave but it ended up more like an animal's burrow.
I considered this one finished a while back but then I got my hands on custom brushes and updated it yesterday. The previous version is somewhere earlier in this thread.

For those who wonder where all my picts are, I've rearranged my albums so the links are dead. Going to ask a mod to close this thread so i can make a new one.
