Yeah, I heard about it but it's all in Japanese still... to not ruin, I'll watch it with proper subtitles/dubs

Anyone else seen the anime?
While the Intro is quite awesome, as is the music, imho they completely missed the mark with the whole thing.
Dante had been turned into your generic "silent strong anti-hero" with nothing distinguishing him from any other of those guys walking around.
His guns and sword are peripheral at most, barely playing a role in the whole show, except if he quickly takes out a Monster (and battles seem to never last more than like 30 seconds or such). Every enemy is absolutely no threat to him, which makes the battles short and utterly boring. Even a Supermonster at the end of the Anime, which can bring the end of the world merely bests him OFF SCREEN, nails him to a cross, only to have Dante come back in the last episode and kill him within 30 seconds.
Somehow Studio Madhouse (who did the anime) managed to turn one of the most exciting games into the most boring anime possible.
There is also no overachieving plot, nothing beyond your random case of the day, and most of them are... really sucky, or seem like filler (Like when he has to find a demon who kills people who loose a poker game... seriously...).
While the art was awesome, and they managed to nail Lady pretty well, the rest was utterly boring and sucking... and I still dont know why the heck they had to give him a 11 year old sidekick. WTF was up with -that-?
In short, a 20 minute episode had a 30 second fight usually, and the voice artist for Dante (japanese original with subs) seemed like he was going to sleep any moment.
Honestly, not recommend.
This was such a waste...

The story for Devil May Cry has never been above the corny level, so I don't see the point of watching any of this series.

Just found out that ADV got the rights to dub it. Huh, wonder who they'll get to voice Dante. Or if they'll (improbable as it may be) hire Capcom's VA for the DMC games to provide the english voices.
