Good to hear about the 122.

I'm a cheapskate. I refuse to pay more than $5 for trades and $10 for hardcovers. The exception are Marvel's Essentials which are such a swell deal that I go up to $10 on them. I never lack for stuff to read. I have a backlog of probably 40 trades on my reading pile right now.

Good to hear about the 122.

thanks.

I'm at a crossroads myself. With only 9 books to go, I'd be a fool not to finish Amazing, because of the value of a full collection versus an incomplete one. The only other run I'm close to completion is Avengers, so there's an outside chance I may finish that one too, but apart from that, I see myself outgrowing "collecting".

I started out as a reader, fell into collecting, got good at it, enjoyed the hunt, no longer do. Really am beginning to question the future of the market, and don't want to continue to sink large amounts of cash into such a project.

I could very well see myself in four years, and about fifteen long boxes lighter, where you are now.

I picked up a couple of wireless "g" routers for $25, yesterday. Gonna try and hook'em up now.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that I stumbled across someone at the flea market who was selling comics for pretty cheap.

I scooped up the original issues of Kingdom Come (I've never owned the issues, themselves), four issues of the All-Access or whatever Marvel/DC follow-up to the "vs." series, and some Birds of Prey stuff for $1 each. Nice one.

I won the recent Deadshot mini for $4.85.

And since west mentioned the flea market, last week I got a bunch of random issues to fill holes, but most significantly, I got 20 issues of 'Groo the Wanderer' for $4.

I am down to eight Amazings. (got a nice 21.)

I fell off the bandwagon by buying a Spider-Man #1 Chromium CGC 9.8. (ouch)

Oh well. It was pretty. I was weak.

After Amazings, Marvel Team-Up.
After Marvel Team-Up, freebies, one shots, limited series, rare appearances. (That should keep me busy for a good decade or two.)

The dvd burner arrived and so did something I forgot to mention.

Alex Ross's "MYTHOLOGY" hardcover. The jacket's a bit wrinkled but I can live with that - especially for the price tag.

I almost got the collection of Ross/Dini works, in hardcover format, but I really didn't dig those all that much individually. It occurred to me that I might be better off skipping a collected edition.

Looks like I made the right choice. Thanks to ragnarok_2012 and others who helped me make that choice.

An AlphaSmart 3000 wordprocessor. this is a $300 piece of equipment, and I got it for $65. Primarily they exist for classroom use, and are bought in bulk by schools. Since I recieved it witout a box, manual, or cords, I come to the conclusion that I likely bought stolen goods.
And I'm ok with that.
Does that make me a bad person?

I'd been hoping to replace the Hawkman issues I sold, with tpb's.

They were separate auctions, but it really worked out pretty well, in the end. That's 1, 2, and 3. And I'm seriously considering getting #4, locally.

Getting rid of the issues, first, can be a bit scary, but the only one I really miss is the one with Hawkwoman. MAN, I wish they hadn't killed her (although that WAS some confusing shit).

Her encounter with Hawkgirl just felt like an instant classic moment.
