Unfortunately, the buzz on the Superman books was squashed somewhat by the Action Comics delays and seemingly endless number of fill-ins on both Action and Superman. It also doesn't help that Morrison & Quitely's All Star and Cooke & Sale's Kryptonite haven't come out for a spell. And the less said about the far from enthusiastic reception Superman Returns recieved, the better.

Outside of the same people griping about Supergirl over and over and over again, the Superman world has hit a bit of a slow patch in my view. If fact, I'm probably gonna step down as Mod of the Superman Board because my interest level in the recent Superman comics has dropppd to almost nothing, outside of All Star Superman.

Like you said, the forum started getting slower and slower the longer the current plots in both of the main Superbooks have gone on, but that should be changing soon. I think we'll finally see the end of "Last Son," which will get some people more interested in conversation here. And with Kurt possibly penning the upcoming "Final Crisis," I wouldn't doubt if the seeds of it were sown in Superman.
