While Ultimate Origin will get more press, Bendis did announce info on upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man storylines.

Death of a Goblin-
We already knows its his first arc with Immomen, Bagley's going to draw the scene where Peter & May discuss his extracurricular activities, Green Goblin's going to escape and the Ultimate Spot makes his debut.

But this cover's pretty cool.
http://www.newsarama.com/heroes_philly07/Marvel/sat/usm_113.jpg

The next arc's going to feature the debut of the Ultimate Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. Bendis revealed that Firestar's going to be someone we're already familiar with.

I'm looking forward to Spider-Man's interplay with Iceman given their shared ex-girlfriend, and the villains as that seems the perfect arc to bring back a few villains we haven't seen in a while (ie- Electro)

Seems the long-discussed Ultimate Mysterio arc's getting delayed a lot longer.

no offense but that show wasn't legendary. i saw one episode and the writing was awful and predictible and the sound effects of iceman's freezing powers gave me a headache.

Ultimate Amazing Friends is gonna be sweet.

Or should I say... "SW33T"???

... Nah I'll just stick with "sweet".

And add in "kickass" for the heck of it.

According to recent solicitations, it's six parts long.

And Ultimate Electro also breaks free.

If you look at the cover for #113 it looks like Doc ock's arm is at the bottom of the cover. I guess he gets loose too, maybe we will see a reunion of the Ult. Six.

I'll second this theory. Liz also had an uncle that was a mutant. Jessica Jones would be my backup guess. I don't see it being MJ since she's already been goblinized.

Yea, I was thinking Liz Allen or Jessica Jones. Of course it could be a Human Torch female clone, like Petey's.

My guess is that the Gwen Stacy/Carnage escapes from fury and takes on the name of firestar...ok i'm just kidding.

My actuall guess is Liz Allen because Bendis said it would be someone near and dear to the book, and she is the only person i can think of that has been there for a while - besides mary jane or kitty pride. (Jessica Jones just barely came onto the book) And despite my crazy guess of gwen i dont think that it is her.

however if in a bizarre turn of events it is gwen i take bake the "just kidding"

He first showed up in the 90's Spider-Man animated series. He was pretty much an average bank robber, but he had a device that could open up human-sized black holes that he could travel through to anywhere he wanted.

Pretty interesting concept if you ask me.

I also think that Liz Allen could be the Ultimate version of Firestar, because it would connect to her "heated" connections in the 616 universe, that is if anyone could catch my drift ? :D

im just wondering if the return of the goblin goes along with the video game. is this just more back story of events that took place once the beetle broke out old gobby?? would be cool, maybe. im still eager to see ultimate beetle in the comics.

You see, that is exactly why I think it will be MJ. I mean how many members of Peter's supporting cast will get powers and those strange hand cramps MJ is currently getting is same thing that was happening to Peter when his powers started to appear.

It's most likely the big Green Goblin/Hobgoblin arc. We've not had Harry and Norman together since the second goblin arc.

so going back to firestar for a moment.

i was reading the ultimate spider-man arc last night where johny storm goes to peters school and she goes on the date with liz allen. in the arc mary jane tells johny that liz allen ran from him because she is afraid that she is a mutant and that she lit him on fire.

now given that bendis said that firestar would be someone we already knew, and that he has been wanting to do this "amazing friends" arc for a long time - not to mention how bendis likes to stick in little clues in older issues - it makes perfect sense to be liz allen.

see if liz is afraid of becoming a mutant, but in reality she already knows she is and is just trying to hide it, than her being firestar would make sense because she thought that she lit johny storm on fire. if she was firestar she would be able to do that and she knew she would.

I would like it more if it was the Human Torch and Shadowcat the one's that are Spider-Man's "amazing friends". After all, they're the ones that already have an established relationship with Peter.

To bring Firestar and Iceman all of a sudden and have them all be buddies seems kinda forced to me. Especially since Bendis totally ignores Iceman everytime he's written the Ultimate X-Men. Oh wait, he was just fighting off panel.

What togeteiku42 said about Liz Allen being Firestar makes sense, but I do not like the idea. Does everyone on the supporting cast has to be involved in some crazy mutant thingie?

i'm hoping that the three will won't be as "amazing friends" as the titles implies, and that it will really just be the three together in a sort of disfunctional setting. i mean spider-man and iceman both dated kitty so they could probably get in some arguments over that. plus if firestar is liz, then she's not going to want to be there cuz she doesnt want to be a mutant.

when i was reading that arc i was thinking the same thing. it seems that all of peters friends are gaining powers. pretty soon it wont matter if people know he is spider-man because everybody he knows will have powers as well.

Yeah -- I think a Spidey/Shadowcat/Human Torch teamup would make much more sense for an "Amazing Friends" lineup (provided that Kitty and Peter eventually make up -- which I think will happen).

Incidentally, Johnny did flirt for a while with Kitty back in the Ultimate X-Men/Fantastic Four mini. Don't know if that means Johnny and Kitty will end up getting together if the three do team up in a future storyline -- they don't seem right for each other, though they are two of the more decent people in the USM supporting cast.

Of course if MJ ends up becoming the Ultimate Firestar and Johnny starts flirting with her... hmmm.... nah, I don't think he'd do that to Peter.

(Then again, he is Johnny Storm...)

Which Goblin do we think is going to die? Harry or Norman? Both have been killed off in the 616 universe. And here's a thought: Mary Jane is techincally a Goblin too (She turned into that freaky red thing during the Clone Saga) is she going to die? Would certainly be a good twist.

(provided that Kitty and Peter eventually make up -- which I think will happen.)

Did you read the fan letters in the last USM issue?
It basically has one guy saying that he liked a lot Peter and Kitty´s relashionship and is sad that it´s over
And they answer him"Oh,the relanshionship between Peter and Kitty isn´t over-just wait until you seen issue 112!"
So there is a possibility of something happening, which is cool because we all know peter and mj are meant to be and they are married in mainstream,so it was nice to see him with a different person for a change,a different relashion, new stories new possibilities, this ultimate spider man therefore we should have the oportunity to see him in different situations!

sephirothskiller

we all know peter and mj are meant to be

I don't think so. Meant to be is a star crossed thing to me, the sort of thing implied in Jean and Scott's relationship before it went south. A "nothing can keep us apart Romeo and Juliet deal." That isn't MJ and Peter to me. MJ only got with Peter after Gwen was out of the picture, there wasn't an instant longing "love at first sight" signaling a perfect match. I don't think they're more than a regular wedded couple. There isn't anything less about a regular couple, it just isn't the same as "meant to be." For that reason, I hope Kitty has a chance. MJ = boring. (Especially with how little she gives to mainstream spidey.)

Dang, that is so true, I've been over it a couple times myself and I can't think of anyone else it could be, Maybe it's Mark Raxton... no. Anyways Liz is the logical choice, because really looking at it no one else has been introduced... Well there's Jessica Jones but thats very improbable.
So Spidey and his Ultimate Friends include:

Human Torch
Shadowcat
Iceman
Firestar
Spider-Man

Hmm... Bendis sure does like putting Spidey on teams first the Knights, and by the time Bendis is done with USM, he'll put Pete on the Ultimates.

The only thing that bugs me right now is, what's the deal with the "lightning" motif on Kitty's (is it Kitty?) arms and legs? And what's with the GINORMOUS gun?

Other than that, I'm mega excited for Immonen's run. :D
