I’m glad most of you picked up on the thematic elements related to June as clues (the name; Flag Day; Fathers Day; weddings). That’s why I figured you’d realize it was James Montgomery Flagg on the second bonus.

IB, I was indeed referring to the only Betty Ross I’d known of; I didn’t realize another Betty Ross lived in the Marvel Universe. Me sorry. :o

I can’t believe JK knew that June Jitsu answer! I certainly didn’t know about her before I made up the quiz.

I thought overall that it would be a fairly easy quiz, given the talents of this board’s denizens, but I have to admit that when Cei-U basically aced the thing about two minutes after I put it up, I started rethinking just how obscure future quiz questions can/should be.

And I couldn’t believe how many of us knew about Johnny Thunder and Madame .44!

I guess our affection for the oft-neglected gems is another reason we like it here. :D

I’ll total these up after work today, unless a more arithmetically gifted colleague wants to add ‘em up first!

Those Hostess ads were incredibly bizarre. Many of them are indelibly burned into my brain. :D Does anyone know who wrote the Marvel Hostess ads? I remember reading that Bob Rozakis wrote the DC ones.

I only knew it because "Whatever Happened to Johnny Thunder?" was the backup strip in one of those awesome Jim Starlin issues of DC COMICS PRESENTS. :o

Nothing to be sorry for. Take note that was the Bad IB, and he was just scrapping around the quiz looking for someplace to showoff, because glancing at the question he didn't have much there that he could answer in a closed booked fashion.

"He" saw the June pattern, but couldn't get any of the last names, not even June Robbins. Really sad considering he had just spent some time glancing at his meager Challenger comics from the late 60s a few days ago.

He figured out from deduction and then remembered the June, May and April nieces thou.

Flagg slipped by him completely.

He knew the Thunderbolts, and the Battlin's, but couldn't link to scalps, hunted or otherwise.

Knew Stan and Jack got bounced by the Shield agents (and liked the reprise bit in the movie, and felt another "I miss Jack" twing)

He strongly identifies with the hen-pecked Web, and could match only four couples.

I thought it was a great quiz though, and yeppers gives us another in the month of Julius please.

And don't feel bad about forgetting or not knowing about the golden age Betty Ross (fortunately no writer has been dumb enough (I hope) to show some kind of relationship between her and Thunderbolt's silver-age offspring). She's a Golden Girl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Girl) that doesn't get much press.

And something I did not know until today, there is a Golden Girl associated with the University of Iowa's Hawkeye Marching Band.
