One of the reasons why i can't get into many of the main DCU titles or most is this Legacy characters thing. So, Flash #56754745 or Green Lantern #524352 died? Who cares? In the next issue, there will be another one as "legitimate" to call himself Flash or Green Lantern or whatever as any other and the book will go on, with another characters, another supporting cast, the Flash or Green Lantern or what's-his-name will do the same thing the other did in JLA, etc.

There is no Ultimate List of Fictional Concepts And Plotlines that one goes down and checks off as each requisite storyline is tackled. A writer comes up with a story and writes it, and you either like it or you don't, the end.

Well yes, but that's probably why we've yet to see such a story, and doubtfully ever will. Of stories that have actually been written, if you can find me one published story out there that not a SINGLE person honestly liked and enjoyed, then that argument MIGHT work. But as conflicting opinions have proven otherwise, time and time again "That story didnt NEED to happen" is basically a 'bow before my rightness' way of saying "Well I thought that was pointless."
