It's not like we're just going in there and saying,"It sucks!!!!", we have real valid reasons. I'm just getting kinda of fuckin tired that I'm made out to be heartless b/c I don't care about Pixie or the background characters.
I think you should get over yourself. You're the one apparently taking it personal. Just chill, Brian. People are passionate about the book as you are about Cyclops and Uncanny. It's a normal thing with comic book fans.

Wallflower! Yeah, I really liked her!
I hated her so much. Best death ever.

I haven't read any of O'Brien's stuff for a couple years, but the times I did read his stuff I generally found him to be wrong.
I agree with this statement.

I'll always stand by is asshats going in to threads and saying shit like,"artist is a hack, he sucks so bad", "writer is shit, he must hate the characters". Where in the New X-Men thread have I been hypocritical?
I think saying the artist isn't good is a completely valid argument for not enjoying the story. It's personal taste? Yeah, but that's what counts to the buyer and reader at the end.

That could be tricky. I tried to speak in Spanish once but ended up accidentally hitting on the boyfriend of the girl I was trying to hit on. Awwwwwkward. I mean, he wasn't nearly as hot as she was. She could totally have done better. You know, like, with me. But apparently its a bit harder to say that convincingly when you've already hit on the ugly boyfriend, whether intentionally or not.

Who knew?

Yeah, every single comic book fan is an idiot. All of them are stupid. They are all morons and there's no exception. Specially the ones that say they hate other comicbook fans. And the more they do it, the worse they are. And the ones that go into comic book forums are even worse than the others, if it's possible.

So I saw Fantastic Four tonight, and I gotta say, not bad at all. I had low expectations, so I was pleasantly suprised. I liked the character development, and I suprisngly kinda like the Silver Surfer. Plus, the CGI stuff was sick.

The only unfortunate thing was Jessica Alba. Could they make her any uglier? She legit looked like a zombie with those bright blue contacts and shatty wig. It's wierd because she looked fine in the first one- but they went over the top and made her scary looking.

Chris Evans was HOT as usual. He bulked up even more than last time!

The only thing I'm a bit undecided about was the length. It was the quickest movie ever! I mean, it WAS 2 hours, but it went by soooo fast. It did hold my attention, and wasn't dragged out, but I dunno, it didn't seem as epic as I would have imagined. Still, it was enjoyable enough, and just as good, if not better than the first one. Overall, I'd give it a B.

I always hated that casting choice for Invisible Woman. I mean, she's such an iconic character, but Jessica Alba is total T&A Maxim Hottie. Plus, as racist as it may sound, Invisible Woman is supposed to be the whitest of the white women. Alba has very exotic features that just don't scream Sue Storm to me. I just wish they didn't find such a bombshell to play her and rather went with someone who has less sex appeal but great acting.

The chains are generally very, very decent. Great quality & range, but pricey...& they hardly ever have sales.

The locals are hit or miss, but generally they're friendly, cheap(er) & you can find what you're looking for (or directions to another place that'll have it). The Comic Book Shop is my favorite...you should come to one of the semi-annual sales if you're in the area Gene.

I tried to read the latest couple of Green Lantern's but the art is just horriffic.Considering your taste, I'm not surprised you would think so. I'm really enjoying Ivan Reis on GL, but I LOVE Patrick Gleason on GL Corps., that dude rocks. I figure Gleason would be more to your liking as well.

Possibly short gags, haven't decided yet. Need some new stuff for my website and most of it has been fairly dark so i'm making some kid-friendly designs :)I had a feeling that would be about right, the character designs are kind of reminiscent of Frank Cho's Liberty Meadows animals, which are awesome.

I'd read your comic strip.

Tee hee. Pro, the birdie you drew looks like she's pointing to your avatar. It's cute.

Those are some cool drawings you're doing. You captured a cartoony feel while keeping their anatomy looking like it works and is 3-dimensional. I love it when cartoons look solid instead of flat and unable to come to life.

Ah, gotcha, you were checkin out Acuna's fill in art. Reis is the regular penciler on the book, Acuna' was just doing that one fill-in arc with the Star Saphire, Reis is back on the book next issue.

i'm meeting up with a friend from college that's passing through town on her way to cincinnati. we're grabbing some lunch at panera. i haven't seen her since graduation in may 2006 but we've talked a few times since then. she was one of my closer friends in college, so i'm looking forward to it.

some other stuff:

i think i might be done with law school. i did not enjoy it and i did not do terribly well. i'm looking to see what else i can do next year instead and it will probably be working. i'm still working as a law clerk now but once i find another job i'll have to end that as well.

my girlfriend moved in with me last weekend. things have been okay so far. we've both been busy doing stuff around the house but most of that stuff is tapering off. still no engagement yet, but it's coming sometime soon (likely before the fall).

we'll see what happens down the line. i've thought about getting my masters in history and teaching or even becoming a cpa.

for now, i think i'd just like to work some and see what it's like without school for a bit.

good luck with the planning, there's a lot to do. a tip: the actual wedding is probably more meaningful to her than it is to you, so give in a little and it will be worth it down the line. that's at least how i feel. i could have a good time regardless of whether or not the flowers are white or cream or whatever but little things like that matter to some women.

Yea I understand that being burnt out stuff. I'm starting to think I should have just gone to work, but what's one more year or two...

Good luck w/ the job hunting then.

As for the wedding, yea I'm giving on pretty much everything. Whatever makes her happy. I also need to learn to dance...b/c...well I suck. So I'm looking into finding someone who can teach me, then surpising her on the day of the wedding like they do in all those cheesey love movies.

the only reason i would go that route is if whatever else i was doing wasn't really working out. my father's a cpa with his own business and a partner is retiring in a few years thus a position will be open. i was a history major/creative writing minor, so i'd have to go back to school some before that but it would take me about a year to get the accounting degree.

i can't say that from what i've seen the work seems very stimulating but it has enabled my father to provide a nice life for his family and ideally that's all i really want to be able to do for mine, whenever i end up having one.
