When I finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire I was so excited to find out what happened next that I started searching for spoilers for the 3 next books. Now I'll be honest, I wasn't that smart since it would have been easy to find out that JK Rowling had not written the next books yet. Anyways I came across what seemed to be the 3 next books and read like 1000 pages between the 3 of them and was so confused by a plot of Dumbledore taking over Hogwarts and killing Voldemort who invaded the school through a card game very similar to Yu Gi Oh. Needless to say the last book had a disclaimer on the last page, that said it was all fake. Since then I don't like Harry Potter spoilers.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this was written for teenage girls, but apparently the writer thinks teenage girls are stupid. I read this this morning and thought it was horrible.

Each and every character was an outright cliche. The adults of the town are cardboard fascists with no redeeming qualities (save the father). The concept of the "art attacks" is laughably bad. Not to mention that most of their "art" isnt even art at all; theres no motivation behind the pieces, no statement being made (other than 'look what we can do'). Maybe the main character's 16 year old everything-is-the-end-of-the-world musings will appeal to other 16 year old girls but they were just annoying to me. The entire book feels like the story was built around the not-so-clever title. Oh, and there's no ending. Nothing is resolved (except Jane now like Damon - hurray!). The book doesn't have anything to say, yet the book is all about characters who have something to say (allegedly).

The only redeeming quality was the art which was quality and enjoyable (except for the odd decision to portray the gay character as a cartoon).

A really dissapointing first book in the Minx line. Unless I hear good things I think I'll just stick to the future volumes that have writers I know of (Watson, Carey) and completely avoid any future volumes written by Young Adult writers.
