I haven't been on in a week and thought I'd treat you guys now that I'm back. Yesterday me and my two mates went to a signing by Mark Millar in Central London. Here's some of the the pics.

Honest to God, Millar has to be one of the most coolest people I've ever met in my entire life. He was so down to earth and very talkative. He was still talking to me even after he signed my comics.

I asked him a lot of questions and had them all answered. I first asked him why he tried killing off Eddie Brock and he said because he thought a lot of people hated him, but didn't realised how popular he still was after he did that to Brock.

I next asked why he chose the Scorpion to be the new Venom and he said that he was the closest villain that represented the perfect type of animal rage for the Symbiote.

I asked Millar if he's doing a Civil War sequel and if he'd return to Spider-Man. He said no for the Civil War sequel and that one day he'd love to return to Spider-Man.

I decided to wait until he finished signing to talk to him again. I had to wait a few hours, but let me tell you waiting sure does pay off from what he told me next.

I've noticed some people speculating about whether he'll do Spider-Man for a year with Mark Bagley. I asked him this upfront and he said no. He's going back to some of his creator owned work at the moment.

He also told me the new Spider-Man writers coming in aren't very well known and in his opinion not skilled enough. I then asked him about Phil Jiminez's involvement. He's not doing work on Amazing Spider-Man, but he is working on something involving Spidey.

But the last thing Millar told was the greatest of them all. He told me that a very popular and familiar Spidey artist is coming back to one of the Spider-Man titles. I know who it is and what title he'll be working on, but I can't say who it is as Millar swore me to secrecy. You can guess who it is all you want and whether you're right or not I'm still not going to confirm it. He was telling me so much they had to drag him away saying, "Okay you've said enough! He's really got to go now."

Cheers mate. He really was helpful. I got his advice on how to break into the comic writing industry too. Yesterday really was one of those iconic best days of your life thing.

He sounds like a really cool guy, and the hint of a very famous spidey artist coming back but yet not knowing who it is leaves one to wonder who can it be. One could only gues *sigh*.

Your lucky to know who it is and since you swore not to tell I won't pester you on who it is :). Fan's gotta keep thier promises.

Glad you had a great time mate, could you at least say when this artist will come? If you can't I'll understand though.

That definitely could be him.

Sounds like a really cool experience Venom, Mark must be crazy nice to be revealing that type of information.

Me too. But i think it's JRJr. Anyway, who are the three not very known writers to take over Spider-Man? Dan Slott seems like a sure bet to one of the titles, but will it be ASM? And who are the other two?

Millar's an awesome guy.

I'm disappointed he's not doing anything Spider-Man related, and even more disappointed that he's not happy with the upcoming writers.

My guess is that John Romita Jr's going to be one of the artists. Although I thought it was actually confirmed that Jiminez will be working on Amazing Spider-Man.

Having met him at Dublin COmic-Con I can confirm he's insanely nice and down to earth. Talked to me for minutes on end about civil war, millarworld, a good few things, was impressed that I was pro-reg and knew my stuff. Also confided his wish to write Doom and refused to tell me the ending to civil war. ;)

Todd Mcfarlane!!! :p
If this were to happen, I think it would top the sales of All-Star Batman.

Especially with a high-profile enough writer.

But I'm quite satisfied if it's just John Romita Jr.

I'm looking forward to Wizardworld Philadelphia, where I hope the new creative teams will be revealed.

Hate to break it to ya, but the cover for Amazing Fantasy #15 was Jack Kirby. Ditko did the interiors. And I cannot imagine the circumstances under which Ditko would ever work for Marvel again. Or MacFarlane.

My money's on Romita Jr.

I'd actually say we have a bigger chance of getting Ditko than McFarlane. ;)

I'm really loving this. Keep the guesses and speculation coming guys. Millar told me this artist should be coming back after JMS leaves. Sadly he didn't tell me who the writers were. The only hint he gave was that they weren't high profile people like Brian Michael Bendis and Jeph Loeb.

You're a very, very cruel man. ;)

Am I right in thinking that even if somebody guesses correctly, you still won't confirm it?

It's very likely Jon Romita Jr!Just take a look at this interview:
http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/wizard/004798091.cfm

Do you know what your next project is going to be after this?

ROMITA: I have an idea. Possibly a Spider-Man title. I’m going to weigh my options. I wouldn’t mind an X-Men title as an alternative. But Spider-Man right now is the idea. There could be something else in front of it, I don’t know. I’ll find out very soon, because I only have two and a half issues of World War Hulk to go.

Well the cat's out of the bag now as the guy's just confirmed it himself. Yes it's true guys, John Romita Jr's returning to "Amazing Spider-Man". He's going to be one of the few rotating artists per storyline.

This actually leads me to believe that the new writers will be pretty good. Mark Millar is a pretty nice and personable guy, but when it comes to comic culture and so on, he just seems oblivious. So if he doesn't think they're up to it, I'm sure they are.

C'mon, he didn't know Brock was popular?

I agree with you on that. I reckon these guys will have potential.
