Can he still shut off mutants powers? That ability was so cool.

Also... Are tehy planning to kill him off? Have they hinted at it, in the new mini coming out about him? I hope not its pointless to build a character for a year and a half then just kill him. Especially somone as vital as him.

And yes, they are planning to kill him off in the final part of the new mini.

Vulcan's power are that he is an energy manipulator. So Cyclops, Rachel, Havok folks like that he could prevent them from using theirs. Folks like Beast, Wolverine, Angel he could not.


Also... Are tehy planning to kill him off? Have they hinted at it, in the new mini coming out about him? I hope not its pointless to build a character for a year and a half then just kill him. Especially somone as vital as him.

No hints about killing him off have been laid out. I agree, killing him off will make him more hated now and will be a dishonor to Banshee, Corsair's memory.

Where did you get that information from? Why would they kill him off? That would be literally....Pointless. At this point.

Vulcan's power are that he is an energy manipulator. So Cyclops, Rachel, Havok folks like that he could prevent them from using theirs. Folks like Beast, Wolverine, Angel he could not.
Actually, his control over Ray's abilities never made much sense to me... she's not an energy projector or manipulator herself, she's a telekinetic. Now that can be focused as raw psychic energy, but I never saw what was stopping her from say, just picking up the Blackbird and dropping it on Vulcan? Not to mention her telepathy... Vulcan's energy manipulation seems too logically limited a powerset to really achieve some of the stunts he was pulling in Deadly Genesis or Uncanny imo, insta-Omega or not.

It seems more the same sort of nebulous "I can do anything I want" power all the big league, all-powerful X-Villians seem to get at one point or another (Sinister, Apocalypse, Magneto, Stryfe, Selene, Holocaust, Nimrod, etc, etc).

From what I understand its the Mutant energy signiture that he controles. You know the energies that formed The Collective? I assume he can suppress and tap into that. which is still in the remaining mutants

Sounds lame... which I guess makes it entirely appropriate given the character we're dealing with here.

Still don't like it though. :/

Well it makes sense. Energy is energy, being Omega, limitless, he can tap into all energies.

Well sure, I guess... I mean, he should probably be able to do stuff like manipulate the electrical impluleses in someone's brain or maybe even electrons at a subatomic level if he has enough understanding... but actually, Rachel could do all that too. And more really.

Then again, Vulcan was a bit more amped up in DG iirc, and had access to Sway and Petra's abilities thanks to the gestalt Darwin thing going on. But he hasn't really seemed much less powerful in Uncanny for some reason. :/

If he's an energy manipulator then doesn't that extend to the kinetic energy the latter group would need to utilise their powers in a useful way anyway?
