Well between me trying to read Pride & Prejudice (:mad:), and work being work, I feel rather frustrated.

Everybody and their Momma wants a damn book today, and on top of that my beat sheets for my film are due tomorrow, and I really want to get them done. OMG Act I olone is driving me crazy. I have to make some plot revisements. Act II is going to be quite the pain.

Taking a breather from it, but I'll be back at the plotting shortly.

Yeah! Just to give you an idea of what kinda nuts we deal with ... A few nights ago, this Hispanic guy is brought it. I think he was busted for robbing a Catholic priest, but he was caught after a bit of a fight in which several of the parishoners took him down. Now mind you, this is a Spanish church and he was taken down by Latino parishoners after attacking a Latino pastor.

So anyways, he's brought in and the guy is screaming about how everyone is racist against him, how they attacked him because he was hispanic, how the cops also only arrested him because they're racist against hispanics. Meanwhile, his arresting officer, Sgt. Rodriguez, is smiling at me through the window, giving me a "It's YOUR turn to deal with this whack job" look! Oh, and when the nurse and I are putting antispetic on his cuts (and somebody bit him several times! :eek: ) he starts screaming that the antiseptic I'm using is the one that only hurts La Raza! Yeah, we have medicines that ONLY sting you if you're Mexican! :rolleyes: It was kinda funny watching my nurse making strangling motions at this moron while his back was turned!

So the rest of that night was actually kind of nice, and we had the normal patients, like parents bringing kids in who ate something they shouldn't have, fight participants, and people in general pain who just need help ... the kinda people I LIKE dealing with, because you don't get the victim attitude from them.

That's why I only go to the cool indie ER.

Just don't go to the Spawn one! :eek:

Sometimes i hate capitalism, and think Marx was on the right track. Working in a grocery store, one can see how dangerous the system can be. Today, 40 pallets of Pepsi and Dr. Pepper came in. To put that in perspective, that's roughly 6500 gallons of water. Do you know how many people that could help? Plus, do you know how much food is wasted? Do you know how often items go past date and are thrown away, or what vendors pick up so they can throw away? Now times that by a thousand, for every store across the country, at least. If you can see that, you'd never stop punching a grocery clerk.

We have the ability to feed the world, but we can't just help people, no, we let money dictate how we move forward. We let our love of profit usurp the desire to help our fellows.

I honestly can't wait for nanotech to be developed to the point where anything could be synthesized, creating an economy where money and profit have no meaning.

If he's making the same amount no matter what, why the hell should a painter do a good job on your house? Basically at more or less raqndom time, one of us (usually Bree or Ben, this time Lester) will pic a poster to have a theme week about. then those who wanna join use an avatar that refelcts that poster.

for Tommy some suggestions are: Emma Frost, Squirrel Girl, I love New york (the VH1 show), Peter Petrelli from Heroes and midgets (don't ask). :biggrin:

It's for my screenplay. I'm reading on the psychology of men and women as well as the archetypes of stories, and how not to make a crappy screenplay. It amounts to six different books.

This isn't counting the Pride and Prejudice stuff. :frown:

Don't remember. It was a spontaneous thing. To some degree it still is.

We did a Lester week, and we all posted as Lester. We were being silly, but then it caught on. We got a lot more rational with the theme. We've had Bree week, Kat week, and Aggie week so far.

I can't remember the date it started. I would say early summer. :redface:

One day I wanted to annoy Lester so I copied his avatar, and eventually everyone else did too and had a "Lester Day" *shudder*. After that we had hellokittykat week, and here we are
