Hey, Heystacy (stacy... is there an echo in here...?) -

Just a thought, FWIW.

I know that when I'm doodling or cartooning, or even when I'm doing stuff for my job -- where I make an effort to do my best, but in which I'm not emotionally invested... my sense of self isn't on the line -- that my work is looser and more "alive" than when I'm trying to do "Art".

When I try to do my "real" stuff, I have a tendency to stiffen up and have to force myself not to force it, if you know what I mean.

You have, I think, said that you're looser when writing your YABS stuff than when you're writing your "real" stuff. Is it possible that the reviewing committee saw the stiffness and that THAT's where the problem was?

You're absolutely right. I knew it, and I don't often see it when I really need to.

I've been told that I have a comedy routine that should be on stage as well. I tell people I have huge stage fright, because I know that's how all the jokes will lose their potency. I am too self-conscious. My writing tends to go the same way (stage fright), except the poetry. Poetry tends to flow for me.

The only reason I am funny is I don't think about being funny, or having fun. I do love being silly, and having people laugh.

I should evaluate all my writings (blog as well).

P.S. Thanks. BTW.

I admit, it is more fun to write for myself. I had this notion that no one would be interested in my silliness, but me, of course. I suppose that takes a high amount of risk and bravery to be so open.

I just do weird memory things like that, but i keep track of that paticular movie because it is my favorite. Despite that fact,i refuse to buy any of McFarlanes Darkness toys. Ever. And that hurts.

Saw Blade 8 times,Blade Trinity 2 times and Blade Trinity 1 time.

They should of stopped at one,no matter how perfect Wesley is as Blade.

I also remember watching Speed Racer in my home for the first time, back in 1970. Kimba the white lion ran immediately right afterwards. Forever ruined me on how GOOD cartoons could be.

Good thing that i hated that movie before this was pointed out,as if i had liked it i would of been very upset. Kimba the White Lion was created by Osamu Tezuka years ago. Tezuka is considered the father of anime and even shoujo manga. Many of the manga he created is still influential, and made into anime series.

Needless to say Kimba predates Lion King, and content from Kimba can be found in Lion King. Disney denied it, but the proof is there.

Just reminding you of what you already knew.

Back when I was in art school, I had a special projects "class" where I would work on stuff for a week or two and then bring it in in a batch for a one-on-one with one of the professors.

Usually, my drawings tend to be very tight, with a very wiry sort of line, but there was this one down near the bottom of the stack where I had just been playing around. I only included it, really, because I liked it BECAUSE it was so different (and because I didn't feel that I had a tall-enough stack to justify the past couple of weeks).

So the prof gets to the bottom of the stack and says, "Now THIS is what I've been talking about for the past two years! This is what I've been waiting to see, when you just let it all go! I KNEW you could do it and you never did! Why? Were you afraid of failing?"

And without thinking about it I just exploded:

"NO!!! I am NOT afraid of failure!! I'm afraid of SUCCESS, because if you can do it ONCE people expect you to be able to DO IT ALL THE TIME AND I DON"T NEED THAT KIND OF PRESSURE and I need to go away somewhere right now and think about what I just said."

So, yeah, boyo; been there, done that...

So, yeah, boyo; been there, done that...

Ck Wikipedia info, here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lion_King#Story_origin).

This will give you deja vu. (http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/y-asada/leo2.html)

As long as you were considered to still have to pay taxes on your income (amount of tax - line 57 of the 1040), you should qualify for a rebate. For example, I get a pretty big return, thanks to my income level and being a single mom, but I still had taxes to pay, just not nearly as much as I paid in, so I'm supposed to qualify.

I must say, if I DON'T get one, then the rebate isn't going to who it's supposed to be!

There was a thread about Ann Coulter that was really heated for many pages and a super charged political thread. To make a very long story short Bree came out of the closet, along with Kris who at that point I thought was an imaginary character. Anyway Bree derailed that political thread by having cybersex withSK 716 for many pages. Well seeing that thread become xrated, I did what any red blooded posting whore would do, and adapted a V avatar, you know the protagonist from V from Vendetta. As V I began a one man war against all lesbians. It was a long hard battle but I declared victory after that thread was locked down by Oz Bat. And that is how I began my several year long fued with the Most Hated One. Just don't ask me about Heystacy because I have no fucking clue.

White Rose summed up my behavior perfectly in that thread when she sated, "Did we really need an evil Lester?" There was more to the quote about me never shutting up, but I can't remember it in its entirety so I don't want to put words in her mouth. Needless to say I wish that I hadn't won the war and that thread was still around as it was a lot of fun for all concerned. Sadly back then a thread with more than 5000 post would crash the server, and this was at a time when the server was constantly crashing so the thread had to go.:frown:

2. Another thing that made that thread funny is that while SK and Bree were going at it, other poster kept trying to re-rail the thread and make it about Ann Coultre but were finally forced to give it up.

Dude,

Your humor is off the charts. I had to reconsider what I was going to do. First, I wasn't giving up my avatar. I liked it, wasn't changing it. I would tough out the weirdness.

Second, I don't mind a little flattery, but DAMN Les, you pressed, steamrolled, and Hulk stomped me.

Lastly, I stopped giving a damn. I confess to not getting the complete subversion of my identity as a joke, but it didn't matter. I don't know what the humor is. You'll have to tell me.

It takes me about that long to shave

I'm sorry, it won't happen again.

It can be overrated, but I'd like to look freshed faced.

Yea, it's the least I can do. And I think I'm going to stop posting in this, the blonde and passed out drunk thread. No matter what I do I keep repeating the behavior in this two posts below so I'm going to just stop with all attempts at humor and banter. I know I made that promise before but I really mean it this time.

He constantly wants attention. He does things he's been asked(more than once) not to do. He's "changed" more times than I can count, yet he always returns to whatever gets him noticed the most. Earlier in this thread he said he wanted to start over with a new account. It would eventually just turn into something he uses to get into three way arguments with himself.

Maybe not intentional, but he is a troll.

Lester,

*big brother mode*

Don't take this post the wrong way because I am not out to dog you in any form. I rather like you, and think you're ok. You have a tendency to take things to the extreme, and that is a real problem.

Why must you torture yourself with endless head buts against the wall? You can use humor, but you NEED to restrain yourself. We all have to. We know how to turn it on or off as needed.

If you say you don't know how to censor yourself, then I will dare say you have learned nothing from your experiences at YABS. You know what too far is, and you know what right is. Work with us instead of against the grain. How else are you going to participate proper?

People like you for who you are. When you go overboard, you push people away. Stop pushing people away. Stop making promises. Stop going on strike every other damn week. Stay here and work this shit out.

*end big brother mode*

What is this word "restrain"? I keep having to learn new words when I'm here! Like there was this one time when HelloKittyKat said she liked dudes! I was confused for a whole month!
