Here's a website devoted to it. (http://www.bisa.ac.uk/)

I'm basically studying international relations, and the history of some regions, as well as aspects of diplomacy.

I hope to work with either the state department, and NGO, the UN after I graduate from university.

I had a friend read over my sitcom pilot episode, and he was brutally honest, and I expected no less. Clearly, all my writing needs to flow like CSI:YABS, which I love writing, which y'all can tell.

My biggest question is, why do I hold on to my scripts so tightly?

Also I got some conflicting points from previous readers. Many asked me to add scenes that bumped off the big payoff at the end. The end result was limited action.

The regions vary with the subjects we study. For example, I spent a semester studying the Middle East, and another studying Latin America.

I could take extra courses devoted to studying specific regions, but I won't due to the fact that I am swamped with enough work as it is.

And thank God for the internet. It provides us with many brief synopses, catering to people with short attention spans like me ;) :p

Yes, but we all know tha Australia is stuck in a weird time-space wormhole thing, which probably explains that hole in the ozone just over your heads and the fact that your animal life looks like they were made with the parts in God's "leftovers" bucket. At least the platypus does.

haven't been around much and no way I can try and play "catch up" with thirty or forty pages here and in "Passes Out". Okay, I probably will get bored and read 'em, but anything I could add would be hopelessly outdated.

So, what's up, how is everybody and what did I miss?

For me, let's go to the "No good deed goes unpunished" file. Some of you know I was trying to help during the flooding here in Missouri a few weeks ago.

Silly me. I ended up with a nice case of pneumonia and some other pesky little problems.
I'm ok, but between fevers and drugs, intermittent phone and internet service, I just haven't really been able to keep up with much.

So somebody dish the dirt. . . is Lester back on strike yet???

The basic synopses:

I used to have a stalker. Bree now has one. Well, not a stalker, more like a bully who tries to pick fights with her.

Oh, and we're all stalking each other. Currently, I have two stalkers, and I'm stalking Tiziano Ferro.

Bo Bo came up with Bizarro Yabs (ask him and he'll create a Bizarro version of you!)

Tommy had sex. He didn't get to finish. But hey, look on the brightside--he's well endowed!

We had fugly smilies for a while. They went away. Too bad. I kind of miss making fun of them.

Gotta wonder what ELSE you two have in common ... hey, is that a Punisher GN back there? hey, that's a library stamp! http://www.msnpro.com/hellokitty/angry.gif

This is how opposite me and Lester can be. I don't read Punisher. I find him kind of absurd, especially when heroes kept teaming up with him. Kinda like when Sabertooth became an X-Man, or when Venom became a hero. :frown:

Hey Yabs! What's up?

haven't been around much and no way I can try and play "catch up" with thirty or forty pages here and in "Passes Out".

Damn dude. I do hope you feel better.

Lester is back on strike. No surprise, huh? LOL This is after he admitted he had farting issues.

What's been going on? The usual silliness. We now know what Bizarro YABS looks like. :frown:

So bored at work today, I decided what would bizarro YABS be like, here's what I've come up with so far:

Bizarro....

Bree: butcher i.e. actually sells kidneys and other assorted meat parts (not human of course).

Aggie: sweet and innocent (think sabrinaset3), every post must be explained to her (never knows where quotes are from).

Jack: pious priest. No women or booze

Lester: Articulate and very wise. Has unhealthy love for Plato and Confucius. Once donated hundreds of philosophy books to a library.

Heystacy: troll of the boards. Complains about everything and everyone. Loves to drink warm milk.

Hybrid: poster extraordinaire. Seems like not a minute goes by without him posting something.

gladdy: angry, rude and very violent. only one eye colour (possibly only one eye from all the fighting)

cam: english snob. Loves tea and looks down at beer drinkers (and everyone else for that matter).

beetlebum: dumb blonde.

So am I close? off the mark?

here we go. this is the one that started it all. LOL

I dunno, that's not very different from the "Real" Bree, is it?

I'd make her a tall, busty, red-headed pacifist. Oh and she should be in "LUV" with Orlando Bloom.

Now that's "Bizarro Bree".

I learned my French in class. All of it came from my textbook. Not a single cuss work in there.

When I was in high school, I was the editor on the school newspaper, which was printed on one of those desktop-sized A.B. Dick offset presses that sat in a corner of one of the classrooms.

It seemed to require being sworn at in a foreign language in order to function properly, so M. LaCerte, the French teacher ended up being the faculty advisor for the paper. I learned standard French in class and expressive French on press-nights!

(The only other person who knew how to run the press was the principal, and if Mr. Karabatsos had chosen to be the advisor, I could have learned how to swear in Greek!)

I see the board is back to gray. i'm making this promise: until they change it back or add a skin choice option, i'm going to post a swatch of CBR Yellow in every YABS post.

Well, if they wouldn't use so many words at a time, then contract some and NOT contract others in the same simple sentence, it would be a lot easier (I think they do it on purpose, as just another way to confuse everyone else!!)

I mean "Qu'est ce que c'est?" = "What's up?"

Now, you've got THREE words -- "que", "ce", and "est" -- each of which is used twice. except that TWO of them are alternatively contracted or not. And the words in question "what", "it", and "is" would actually suffice to ask the question...

But, No-o-o-o-o-o-o...! That's not GOOD ENOUGH for the French...!

THEY'VE got to ask it twice, two DIFFERENT ways, just so the can use as many different forms of as many words as the can, in order to ask "What is it what it is...?"

Honestly, sometimes I really *DO* think they do it just to piss off everybody else!

Adjectives have to follow the noun they are describing. So since in essence you're saying that the "night is good" then the adjective "bonne" has to go with the noun "nuit".

I need a copy myself! How can a movie be good and bad at the same time?

You know, the good thing about French is that you can be reciting a recipe for brownies and it would sound sexy.

Well, brownies are kinda hot too, I guess.

Mmmm...brownies....:d

Ou est la biblioteque?

I'm pissed. Just got a call this evening from former flatmates. They forgot to pass on letters addressed to me. Turns out they were calls for me to do jury duty.

So now the language of the correspondence is starting to mention 'crime'. And this is when they choose to tell me.

I'm waiting to get a lift over there now so I can look at the letter. I'm sure it can be cleared up, but I'm not a happy bunny. Not happy at all.

Il faut que je serais tranquil, bien sur, mais je ne suis pas content.

I feel like such an ignorant American. The only think I know how to say in French is "Sir, help me please." Which actually saved my life at a Cure concert in Paris, but that's a long story.

Did you have to take any languages in your undergrad years? What is your undergrad degree in, if you don't mind me asking.

HA! You'll laugh. My undergrad was Communications, of all things, with a minor in Journalism. I did take Spanish as my undergrad language, which wasn't as much of a cop-out as you think. I don't know what it is, but I can understand Spanish much MUCH better than I can speak it. My parents will talk to me in Spanish, but I'll answer them in English because I can't seem to flip that switch in my head. It's pretty sad, really.
