What are your vacation plans?
For Thanksgiving I wanted to spend a week with my family in Chas, SC. I can't take vacations during the quarter, but the holiday is during the break.

I hope it's a small building, like a Tuff Shed or one of those little drive-through hamburger places.

A social simulation game, Miami Nights: Singles in the City offers gives players the benefit of an unprecedented feeling of freedom, massive customization options, and longer multiple-goal scenarios. Sample a life of dreams, glamour, or trash! As in reality, life choices will transform their characters into unique, progressive individuals and ultimately help a player reach the game's final objective of becoming a star.
I may not be able to be a real resident of Miami, but I can play one in 2008 on my DS! Why does one have to choose between dreams, glamour, and trash though? Can't we have it all?

I know I promised not to post, and for the most part I'm keeping that true, but I am so stressed right now. Earlier my contact solution bottle fell beyond reach behind my dresser. I immediately reached into the force to pick it up. When the forced failed me I was confused for a nanosecond so I reached for it again in the force. Then I realized what I was doing and laughed at how my mind works sometimes and thought maybe it isn't a good idea to be immersed on a daily basis in the Star Wars expanded universe for sixteen years now.
It was all good until I thought, hey maybe this is how people lose their grip on reality. Today, while your brain on autopilot, you try to summon the force but a year from now you are locked up in an asylum somewhere yelling at everyone that this is no way to treat the second coming of Christ. Needless to say I'm a bit spooked right now, even though I know it's all in my head.

For a second there I was mystified as I thought it was strange for the force to let me down and not be with me and started to panic for a bit. Speaking avoiding Star Wars that's a no can do. I just read Death Star last month and this month a new Legacy Of The Force novel is coming out. Also I am bidding on some Legacy comics on Ebay. Finally my boss is teaching me a Star Wars table top card game which we play to pass the time on third shift.

That's why I freaked out a little. When I use my imagination I disassociate from reality and I'm fine with that as it's a conscious decision on my part. For instance working out on a cardio machine for two hours or walking for a two hour round is a lot easier if my mind is someplace else and I have the talent to walk and use my imagination without hitting anything. People freak out a bit when I tell them this, but it's I've been that way since I was a kid so I don't think it unusual as I control my imagination and not the other way around.
However today I simply, for a heart beat, lost my grip on reality due to no conscious decesion on my part. It just happened which really bothers me.

AHHHH! I gots to discuss this episode!
Okay... first off New York slathering all over Punk's body. Obviously New York has bad taste, but come on, his body is ridiculously over developed. He looks like a mutant freak.
And aren't New York and her mother supposed to be these super Christens? What the hell were they doing with a psychic and blood oaths?
If the production crew arranged all the mishaps that night they did a brilliant job of it.
I really want to know if Pretty's oath had something about homosexuality in it.
Buddha's letter was the biggest bag of bullshit I've ever heard.

Trinity Blood is coming out on DVD in a few weeks, which means I will be able to get it for a very good price on Amazon in about a month or so. I have no idea what the show is about but I'm a sucker for anything with vampires in it. Speaking of Trinity Blood someone on Ebay is selling thirty "English Dubbed" copies of the whole run on Ebay. Neat trick since the box set doesn't come out for a few more weeks and it's an ENGLISH and Japanese dubbed and subbed version. I'm so dissapointed in the fact that Ebay doesn't have some sort of screening process for it's sellers other than feedback. It's obvious this guy isn't on the up and up and he has thousands of sales to his name all of it bootleg anime.

Trinity Blood is coming out on DVD in a few weeks, which means I will be able to get it for a very good price on Amazon in about a month or so. I have no idea what the show is about but I'm a sucker for anything with vampires in it.
Trinity Blood had so much potential, but I ended up losing interest in it early on. Abel Nightroad reminded me a LOT of Vash the Stampede (the loveable goof that could be really scary if he wanted to be), which was one of the show's redeeming factors for me.

If you pick it up on the internet make sure you check that the serial number on the back of the box they are trying to sell you is valid. There is a lot of knock offs out there. The good news is that most of it is indistinguishable from the real thing but still you don't want to buy fake crap. A good tell if it's a knock off is the number DVDs in the box set, as most knock off series are on three DVDs while most real series are on eight to ten DVDs.

I like the series. I rediscoverd it on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network), because it comes on as I am about to crawl in my bed. So far, so good.

You have a crittical eye. It's great for spotting things unworthy of your time as a consumer. Unfortunately some people are all too gullable/greedy to pay attention to the finer details.

Magna are Japanese comic books that neary everyone reads in Japan regardless of age and gender. Some of the more action orientated magna is made into anime but most of it is not. Think novels here. Yea, some are made into movies but most are not.
Hentai is big budget anime porn, which Sally Sensational pointed out depicts adult with child faces having the most disgusting untantalizing sex possible. To make matters even sicker many of the female characters are children but are angels or demons or something that allows they to expect from child porn. Nothing against your brother, who sounds a lot like me actually, but Hentai is really sick and people who watch it creep me out. There is a reson why Hentai in Japanese translate into pervert.

it was f'n creepy, but it was something i was wondering about and could quite possibly make waterbending the most powerful of the individual bending arts...i heart katara so hard...and because nothing is thrown in for the sake of throwing it in, i wonder what will bring her to the point where she would actually have to use it...just really good stuff...
and i know you're probably tired of me saying it, but thank you, thank you, thank you for everything, from the edits, to giving me a kick in my butt, and for just inspiring me to hanker down and produce something even if it's just one sentence...i really can't tell you how much it means to me stacy...*huge smile*....

I think Katara is the heart of the team. She has grown with each episode. Sometimes I forget how young they are. She's a waterbending master, and extremely powerful. She's not even an adult yet, so you know she will become stronger.

The writers on Avatar know how to mix funny with serious. Sokka's ghost story was so damn funny, and his suspicious nature, along with his antics are priceless, then you hear this tragic tale, and a good confrontation.

I admit to not "catching" the series when it began. In fact the times I first peepd it, the same episodes were repeating, so I never got the feel of the series. Nicktoons syndicated the first two seasons, and that's when I got to relax and watch it.
It's complex without being a drag, and dynamic enough to keep you wanting more. The writers are able to write humor, tragedy, and action without it feeling out of place.

The "Andy Warhol" movies were mostly the work of Paul Morrissey. IIRC, Andy gained more creative control in later films. Are you talking about the "Hustler Trilogy"--Flesh, Trash, and Heat--or the Warhol spins on the monster movies? Personally, I always got a perverse kick out of the Joe Dallesandro movies! In addition to the overwhelming gratuitous nudity of Joe, I thought the self-absorbed monologues of the characters were kooky fun. Especially noteworthy are Holly Woodlawn in Trash and the swinger wife in the same movie.
Caligula--I love the decadence of the uncut edition. HATE the watered-down version!

I agree, but I also think there is a lot of pretentious actions. Warhol did a film called "sleep" which was noting but a man sleeping. Likewise there is an eat, and a building film he did.

I checked out "Flesh" I know this because I had the wrong call numbers and hand to look them up for the student. Don't remember the other title. He found them both repellent.

The surge of interest in Warhol probably owes Factory Girl a debt of thanks, since it recently came out on DVD. In my opinion, the movie hinted at the madcap decadence, sycophantic parasitism, and self-destructiveness of the Factory, but came short of a full delivery. I Shot Andy Warhol nailed that subculture more effectively. Minor complaint: What the FUCK was up with Factory Girl's casting of Brigid Polk? The real Polk was a chubby dishwater blonde, not a skinny brunette!

Unless you count my brother there wasn't another black person in my hood until I was in late high school. Still even I never got into a Goth phase. My racist unsubstantiated theory is that she either has a low self-esteem issue or is subtly making fun of the white people around her.

I never saw Queen Of The Damned but I was so sad when Aaliyah died. I liked her very much.
I liked her too as an actress and a musician. Her death was the first senseless and pointless death that effected me emotionally. The reason why she died was because of her excess baggage weighing down her plane as unbelievable as that sounds.

There's a wanker uniform, now?
Back in my day it was a 'come as you are' affair.

So did I. Baby girl was my favourite singer. She had a bright future ahead of her, and it was unfairly taken away from her. She was the hip hop Princess Diana, and her death hit me that hard.

I thought the pilot was blamed. :(
From Wikipedia
The NTSB report states "The airplane was seen lifting off the runway, and then nose down, impacting in a marsh on the south side of the departure end of runway 27."[6]
It also indicates that the pilot, Luis Morales III, was not approved to pilot the plane he was attempting to fly. Morales falsely obtained his FAA license by showing hundreds of hours never flown, and he may also have falsified how many hours he had flown in order to get a job with his employer, Blackhawk International Airways. Additionally, an autopsy performed on Morales revealed traces of cocaine and alcohol in his blood.[7].
Further investigations determined the plane was over its total gross weight by several hundred pounds.
Eddie Golson, president of Pro Freight Cargo Services at Opa-locka Airport, said workers carted "a pickup truck of freight" from the crash site. "That's absurd to think that this pilot got in this airplane with eight other people and a truck full of freight and expected this thing to fly," Golson said. Two of the passengers, members of Aaliyah's entourage, weighed in the region of 300 pounds and sat in the rear of the plane, where the baggage was also stored.
Planes are designed to fly significantly over their rated weight limit, but with heavy passengers and cargo in the back, the center of gravity was pushed too far aft[8]. This caused an uncontrollable nose-up attitude, leading to a stall.
The day of the crash was Morales' first official day with Blackhawk International Airways, a FAA Part 135 single-pilot operation. In addition, Luis Morales III was not registered with the FAA to fly for Blackhawk. As a result of the accident, a wrongful death lawsuit was filed by Aaliyah’s parents and was later settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.
Barry & Sons, Inc., a corporation formed in 1992 to develop, promote and capitalize on the musical talents of Aaliyah and to oversee the production and distribution of her records, tapes and music videos, brought an unsuccessful lawsuit in the Supreme Court of the State of New York against Instinct Productions LLC, (a company hired by Barry & Sons, Inc. in August, 2001 to produce the "Rock the Boat" music video). The case was dismissed since New York State's wrongful death statute only permits certain people to recover damages for wrongful death.
It turns out we both were right. The plane was heavy and the pilot was stupid son of a bitch.

OMG, I forgot all about the baggage thing! I recently heard a joke about someone having "more luggage than Aaliyah," or something along those lines. I didn't get it at the time, so a belated, tasteless BWAH! to that.

I heard a joke on a radio station once that had me falling out of my chair laughing. One person was introducing the song Rock The Boat, and as he was finishing said "Or as (insert random DJ's name here) likes to say, she shoulda took the boat."
Tasteless celebrity death jokes. Still fun!
