It means that I stayed in school way too long. Actually, while I was doing my grad work in English, I had a teaching assistantship. I discovered that my students in 101 were woefully unprepared, so I decided to back up to teaching high school so that I could help prepare kids for college.

The MAT came along with my certification. I didn't even want the degree, actually. It's going to make it hell on wheels to get another job, because, like Tom's wife, I'm way more expensive to hire than a newbie teacher. But the MA in English does qualify me to teach at a community or junior college, which is my fall-back/burnout plan.

I still have a plan to get a doctorate, in English, never in Education. But I have to get the kid through school first. Current plan is to head off for my Ph.D. when she heads off for college. I figure I can find a decent program within a few hours of where she goes. I'm probably going to push her to look into small liberal-arts schools rather than big state schools - I think she'll get a better education that way. So, if she heads off to a smaller school, I can probably get my doctorate in the nearest large university. I'm shooting for Emory or the University of Georgia, with the kid going to Berry College in Rome, GA.

One of the reasons I blog is that it keeps me writing. Sometimes with writing, it is a matter of writing through the good and bad. We all write some really trite pieces at one point, but if you keep working at it, you will master the basics of writing, and there you will have a start. :cool:

That's cool. I tell my friends who want to write, start very simple. Describe your day in a paragraph, Expand from there. Learn how to put concrete images in your writing.

Scripting is the big challenge for me now, as I have to learn film/production terminology, but I have a good instructor.

For some reason I liked Black Arachnia better when she was a Predacon. Very treacherous with brains. Unlike Terrasaur. She also beat Tarantulas at his own game.

I like Black Arachnia anywhere, any place, any time. That's why I liked Beast Machines so much. It was Black Arachnia and her little dudes. But she did make an awesome predacon. I was glad that she switched sides.

Waspinator also stole the show.

I loved her evil, indignant personality. She was sly and sarcastic when she joined the Maximals. In Beast Machines she and Silverbolt did a little role reversal. She pursued him, and tried to convert him from evil to good.

Megatron and Cheetor were my favorites.

I started in with cramps from moment 1. And they've just gotten progressively worse through the years. Add to that PMDD - NOT PMS - and being a girl really sucks for 10+ days a month for me. god that sucks...i didn't start having cramps until after i turned 25 and each year they become progressively worse...there are days when i feel like crawling out of my own skin or just break things...the things is that you really have no control over your emotions and you find yourself flipping out w/o really understanding why...it's nuts.

i just watched "appa's lost days"...and aside from the fact that it make me cry like a little baby...the scene where "azula's angels" take out the kiyoshi warriors is so badass...i would love to see azula and katara go at it straight up, toe-to-toe...i think katara could take her...but yeah...i really think that somehow azula is gonna be the real threat in the end and not ozai...
