3. Having any kind of name that can be used for any sexual joke, as a kid is dangerous. :(
Both my first and last names can be made into penis jokes.

Ohhh. The name Stacy in itself was somewhat the cause of cluelessness for some people and no one could help but tell me that "Stacy is a girl's name." Dumbasses.
Having the last name similar to an underwear company doesn't help either.

Hmm ... yeah. Sabrina is actually one of my middle names, although outside of my family, who have pretty much forgotten it and always call me Sab, Sabs, or Bree, maybe five people tops know what my real first name is. I have plans to legally change my name to Sabrina although that's what everyone at work knows me as except for what it says on my license.

I thought about changing my name, or at least using my middle name. Sometimes I wear my name like a badge of honor. I don't like the idea of other people telling me what my name is or means.
The gender confusion for some people is underwhelming though. I have to put "Mr." on my work email to avoid confusion.

I bought a copy of Instinct magazine since there was an article on Justin Hartley in it. It was amazing how little interest I had in anything inside it. The funniest part was that they were doing their Men of the Year list (Actor, Activist, so on) and it was clear they were desperate for people to fill their categories. Very sad.

I don't think I could. It seems to have its own demographic at least enough to support it and I'm not a member of it.
But if I had to start somewhere I would stop slathering over the gay "celebrities." Lance Bass should be vilified for coming out just to try and sell two TV shows, not have lovey dovey articles about his reality TV show boyfriend.
Also I would try and get the reviews to be reflective of the actual movies as opposed to the sliding scale of crap we call the gay movies.

The wedding and reception was a blast. The bride was Assyrian and the groom was Puerto Rican. Bellow is a few highlights.
1. All night people either talked to me in Spanish or asked me how I knew the groom. What can I say this time of year I look like I'm Puerto Rican and this actually happens quite a bit.
2.Assyrian belly dancers are sexy.
3. My grandma Yimmy, whose name is actually Maria but everyone calls her Yimmy as it means mother in Assyrian, can drink everyone under the table.
3. My uncle Ramsey, the one who was in a mental insitution for decades, is proud of the fact he's never brushed his teeth and had to take out his dentures to eat. He's forty eight. Ramsey also works as a security guard:eek: and looks just like my brother.
4. I wore the suit Hello Kitty Kat and Ninja Kris designed for me and everyone was shocked. I guess it was the first time I ever matched and they wanted to know who dressed me.:o
5.My brother and his girlfriend, who haven't been out for over a year due to the birth of their baby, both got drunk. I had to drive them to my place but not before my brother girlfrind puked in my car.
6. I found out that the wedding and reception set my aunt back SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. The plates alone was 100 dollars a guest and there were five hundred people at the reception, which was held at this place (http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=2015&EM=aa_Google_Sheraton_arlington_park_122505&PS=GWS_aa_Google_Sheraton_arlington_park_53006).
7. As a request of the bride I drank a class of Champagine. I've never had alchol before so I puked, and everyone laughed at me. I guess I set the stage for my brother's girlfriend.
8. My brother and my cousin Lenard damn near started a riot because the bar closed at 7pm and didn't open until 10 pm.
9. My fucking mom gave me two hundred dollars and said she was sad that she missed my 26th birthday September 7. I didn't bother to point out that my birthday is July 17 and I turned 29.
10. have a lot more stories, including my four year old niece streaking the reception, but that will have to wait as I have to pick up one of my cousins so we can go to the beach which might be closed, but hey we can all climb a fence.

My birth name was Taro Yamamoto.
"Taro" means "first son" in Japanese, so that had to go. I changed my last name to sever any remaining connection I had with my father. We didn't want to have anything to do with each other at that point, and I figured it would solve the problem of my "dishonoring the family name".
And then I took Emily's name when we were married. They were willing to have me as a member of their family, so I wanted to honor them.

That's nice. ^.^ I have two middle names, the first was my father's name. That's the only one I got rid of wholesale. But then..... after a life of alcoholism and abuse, who would have figured he'd turn out to be my biggest supporter? I kinda feel bad, although I still have his last name.
Last name-wise, neither Heather nor I are particularly gifted. And if we hyphenate it.... well, it almost sounds like a slur against gay males. So...... we just stick with our own. Perhaps I should have promoted my matrilineal family name.... Devereaux.... to my surname, but oh well.

I considered using my mom's maiden name, but "Gilda Gesta" just doesn't roll off the tongue very well, we weren't speaking at the time--that came only a few months ago, after a decade of silence--and she wasn't using the name anyway--I think her name was Hanson at time--so I just picked a name I liked. I didn't have any middle names to deal with.

The Simple Life at least HAD a huge fan following among the gays. But I would wager that had more to do with Nicole Richie than Paris Hilton.

It is the same thing with gay movies, in that the people with real talent are not going to spend their time sequestered in a niche market. So we get stuck with the people who are at best mediocre.
I used to read Time magazine religiously a while ago, and I know they have tons of gay writers who, if they got together, could have produced a fucking awesome magazine. But sadly it will never happen since, like I said who the fuck wants to toil away in a tiny tiny market when there are far more lucrative options out there?

Yes they do. Six Feet Under and Love Monkey being prime examples. And I love them, and I am thankful for them. It's just that they are straight shows with gay characters as opposed to gay shows. It would be nice to have gay characters being the main focus of the show and still not slide down to utter trash.

I'll probably see that, even if just on DVD. I've loved Timothy Olyphant since Go. He doesn't seem like the most obvious bad-ass though.

Yes they do. Six Feet Under and Love Monkey being prime examples. And I love them, and I am thankful for them. It's just that they are straight shows with gay characters as opposed to gay shows. I must admit that I cheated on the lumpia. I do a mix and match with whatever I have available (shrimp, cashews, and carrots with bean sprouts as an extender tonight) and make enough for the whole week Saturday or Sunday morning so that come supper time, it's just heat and add the sauce. If we're doing cold lumpia, that has to be made fresh, otherwise the lettuce wilts.
Mostly, though, I cheat.

Apparently watching a guy in his forties wearing a dress shirt and tie drawing a picture of a demon didn't sit too well with a few of the mothers with their kids there. On the other hand, a couple other people asked for his card. :p

Barbecued hamburgers, steak, chicken, sweet potato pie, cheesecake, cornbread, and a whole bunch of other foods you'd find at a southern barbecue as my dad is originally from the south. The only hitch is that Assyrians don't eat pork and no one told my dad that so all the Ribs he bought are going to go to waste as I only eat bacon when it comes to pork.

Five or six years back there was an Assyrian convention in Chicago, after witch there was about three hundred thousand dollars in damage. This happens every year, the end result being that that the convention has to move from state to state, and we get the honor of having a heavy police presence at out annual convention, which ends in people getting tasered and arrested but not before we wreck the place.

Can you explain the appeal of ribs? People pay a fortune for a product that's nearly all bone that has a little bit on meat on it. I personally never understood the appeal, as I think it's a ripoff.
It's a southern thing, which makes explaing it a little difficult. I can say that it's cheaper to buy the ribs, par boil and make them yourself than it is to but them. $16.00 for a whole rack, vs $18.00 for a dinner, and much less meat.
Take heart, as I don't like pig feet, or grits, and both of those are staples in the south. :(
EDIT: Many people use ribs as flavoing in their greens, peas, whatever vergatable dish they choose. So you will find, in the outh, the taste is very much ingrained in the culture.

Speaking of nasty I just ducked my head into my kitchen, and saw my dad making pork chops another food that is going to waste. I asked why he was cooking it, and he told the get the hell in my room and stay there while he's cooking. I'm 29 years old and still getting punked by the old man.

If there are any gay Assyrians, and I'm sure they are, they are deep in the closet. If you think gays have it bad here trying going to Iraq, Iran or anywhere else in the Arab world. The one time I know that an Assyrian came out of the closet, he was kicked out of his house by a family who, up to that point, was very loving and supporting. The poor bastard was only sixteen. No one talks about him, so I have no idea what become of him, so don't ask.:(

You think too linear. None of the Rotten Apples have popular blogs, except for Kat, and your MPD's running about.
We also have things we can post there and here. sometime they overlap, but the blogs/LJ's have different vibes to them.
Aggie has a great blog that channels her personality well. Shisho's blog has a great yet sly academic approach. Papergirl's is personal without being intimate. Kat has a simple and easy blog that captures her humor and wit well. My own blogs, are my obscessions: Food, writing, cartoons, art, music.

Screw de-stressing, I need to vent rage.
I went to 3 friggin' stores today to try and get the Deathlok album, and none of them had it! If I hadn't of gotten Death Proof, I would have done something in the last store that requires an emplyee to get a mop after I was forcefully removed.
Deathlok made an album?

How different is Death Proof from the movie version? Did they add anymore fake trailers?

My LJ is popular!
Actually I had thought the same thing at first, Les but like Stacy said, eventhough some thoughts may overlap between our LJs and YABS, there are different tones.
Just all the Lester clones hanging out. Stupid Kat Tricks is some of the best reading I get.

In the future there will be no gays.
Will every one be running around with their eyes closed, or will closets have an extra dimensional property that allows gays to transport somewhere better?

I'm not sure, but I wanted to write a report on gays in science fiction, the only problem is there are none.

There are a few. I can't remember offhand. Wikipedia listed some, it's been a while since I read their science fiction entry (which could have changed by now). Start there, and see what turns up.
