Looking good (waiting for the reviews though).

I'll be grabbing every variant cover I can find. This is going to be great.
I can't wait for the Thor/Stark confrontation. Regardless of what anyone says, Tony did something horrible to an old friend. I sure hope he is punished.

I just hope the issue doesn't fly by and I'm done reading in 10 seconds lol Then I gotta wait another month for the next one :(

Same here. I hope there's actual meat to the issue and not just repetitive narrative captions. JMS has a hard-on for those. Still, looks good so far.

Well regardless of this, I'm interested in Thor for probably the first time ever, so I'll actually be checking this out too.

JMS can write some VERY meaty comics when he wants to. See bullet points for reference.

I've never read a Thor comic, but I think I may get this. I know that Thor and Blake were one in the past; I'd rather have them be separate. But I'll give this a try and see how it is and if this works.

When a JMS plot goes right like much of his spidey run... well, it's a SIGHT TO SEE. I'm hoping that will be the case again as opposed to his FF dud.
It seems a promising start that we are clearly continuing DIRECTLY from the actions and implications of Ragnarok as opposed to JMS bringing back Doom in FF with basically no regard to the continuity of his last appearance, without I'd guess having even read that story.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe Tony didn't clone Thor to use as a weapon, but just because he missed his old friend? *sniff* :p

I'd like to see Thor vs Sentry, and maybe a subtle referance to how similar they are.

How does Reed Richards escape blame on this? All I hear is Tony this, Tony that. I seem to remember Reed operating on Clor's brain.

I think I'll wait till someone I know buys it and tells me what they think.
The preview was nice but I think all that could have been done in a or two rather than 5.

Am I the only one who noticed this??
And . . why is there a zombie variant cover again? PLEASE tell me the real 616 Thor gets to tear apart some Marvel Zombies.

I'm getting annoyed by that too, but frankly, if marvel keeps pumping 'em out, it means that there's demand. So they might as well keep giving Suydam more work. He's a great artist anyhow.

I'm looking forward to the book, even though all the variant covers make me sad (*2* zombie alts, a BW alt and a Turner alt).
JMS really seems to be emphasizing the dual nature of Thor the god and Blake the mortal in the opening pages. I wonder if he's aiming to play up the "two halves of whole" line of philosophy here (can't have one without the other). I'm not exactly a big Blake fan myself, but I'll definitely give the first arc a chance to sell me on the concept.

Awesome preview!:D
I'm really glad JMS is taking his mystic magic tricks out of my Spidey and into Thor. I love his current Amazing SpiderMan but I wasn't a fan of the Spider-Totem.
Hopefully it'll be as great as his ASM or at least better than his FF. The art is beautiful so no worries here.:)

Thor is my favorite character by a mile, even over Cap. Walt Simonson's legendary run is the greatest achievement in the history of the medium! One of the reasons for this is because he got rid of the whole silly Donald Blake bit and focused on Thor's GREAT supporting cast in Asgard instead of focusing on lame (and I don't mean crippled) Earth born human characters. (and their kids, ex wives, girlfriend's daughters, etc...)
For every boring page dedicated to the drama in Don Blake or Jane Foster's (I'm assuming...) lives, it's one less page to see Loki scheming, or Karnilla pining for Balder, or Sif wanting fullfillment in both battle and love from Thor, or the Enchantress seducing somebody, or Odin and his confidants discussing trouble brewing against Asgard, ...
Marvel just doesn't seem to understand "what" makes Thor work. It's not his bond with humans through living as one sometimes, I'll tell you that much. I have serious reservations about this. I like the art a lot, and I'm glad a quality guy was brought in. He's not in league with my favorites, but he's well ahead on any B list artist.
At least we *should* get 12 issues of uninterrupted comics by JMS and Coipel, due to all the lead time, so I'm really hoping a great story is on the way. I just want more Asgard, and very little Earth.

Note that Reed has wasted no time in making himself scarce.
"Saving my marriage" my ass, Reed. More like "rubber chicken"...

The preview looks weak so i guess we can expect this story to have a bad pace and expect a 6 issue story arc where hardly anything happens in it.

Realistically do we need 6 pages of pinups? I dont think so. I wonder if this will be a 2 minute read when it comes out.
I'd like to see Thor vs Sentry, and maybe a subtle referance to how similar they are.Except Sentry's human and therefore innately superior to an alien like Thor.

You want a long read? Pick up The Dark Tower. Reading each issue of that thing is like reading a novella.

I'm really looking forward to this, but I also have my reservations. I'm not such a big fan of bringing back a Don Blake persona, but I'm willing to wait and see. JMS has his detractors but so far I have enjoyed the great majority of his work.
Also, I'm usually a HUGE fan of Coipel's, but I'm not all that impressed with the preview pages. His Thor looks kinda chunky and a bit...well, crappy I guess. I'm not too concerned on that front though, Coipel has a good track record with me.

Seeing as how it's a recap of the important aspects of Thor's entire life ending with Ragnarok and leading into Civil War, I'd say they aren't just pin-ups. Hell Mark Waid had a tough time fitting people origins in the 52 back stories in 2 pages, with a Thor comic I'm sure I can give some leeway in that regard.
Plus the preview was intruiging enough for me to want to check out what happens next. If the story moves slow fine, that's nothing new in comics and if people aren't satisfied with the pacing they know that the trades are the way to go then.

uhh no he's not. His alter ego's have been human's but he's a God, or an ancient alien worshipped by humans, whatever you wonna call it.

You serious? I think Thor is looking better then ever, he really draws him like a badass Norse beast. Not crappy at all.

So he's finally back? Everyone's favorite little cosmic character. Until he does something against the pushed Sentry character, it will probably be a shaky start.

Yep, serious. I like the other stuff...the warriors 3 look fantastic, but I'm just not digging his Thor in those pics.

Eh Thor's been long established so he's already got plenty of cred. Sentry just filled a certain void in the meantime but given his trepidations and the way writers write him out of entire fights I'm ready to see someone like Thor not hold back, smack some sense into Sentry about his combat skills, and just kick some ass.
