Would the writer of the WWH Hulk vs. Thing matchup be more likely to have it be a 1 or 2 panel stomp for Hulk, or would he write it so Thing gave Hulk a good fight before going down?

If they want them to actually conversate throughout their battle, then their fight will last some pages. 99% chance that it'd be of the conversation variety, so Hulk won't KO him in a couple of panels.

If he has any brains at all, he understands that Hulk/Thing fights are a fan-loved staple for decades and would have it last a while.

The Hulk (especially the intelligent versions) and Thing have had this friendly rivalry going for ages. I doubt the Hulk is just going to lay into Ben like he did during the Vegas arc (when he was insane). If he did it'd be a one page fight. I'm sure in this one there'll be time for banter, even if the end is never really in question.

I not only think this fight will be kinda long, I'm convinced Hulk might even convince Ben to join his side. Ben's always had a trauma on him being a monster, and seeing the extreme to which the Illuminati considered the Hulk one would be shocking to him, especially Reed's involvement. The dead-wife-with-unborn-child bit is also a damn convincing argument.

Agree, here's hoping that THIS TIME the battle between these two will make the THING think about what he's doing. :D

One also has to wonder why The Thing has continued to be a shield for Richards. To me, it always seemed like the respect and friendship was fairly one sided. With the nanobots, ultimate nullifier, Thor clones, Negative Zone gateways, freakin' Asgardian armor powered by a magic crystal, and the full resources of FF, Reed and Stark couldn't find a way to give Grimm a shot at a normal life?

Neither Richards nor Stark really deserves someone like The Thing watching their backs.

Again, Another point that I hope World War Hulk covers. :(

I don't know why everyone always hypes these 2 characters fighting, i mean thing always gets his ass kicked from what i can remember...hell even in the 2 FF animated series when hulk shows up thing looses completely and this is on THEIR show!

Hulk may outclass Thing now, but that's how the fans want it (or at least that's how Marvel writers think fans want it, I guess). But way back in the 1960s, Thing gave Hulk a better fight and there was actually a time that there was some doubt about which was stronger. This issue was addressed in a question & answer section in an early FF issue which stated that although Thing would deny it, Hulk was stronger, but that Thing was faster and quicker-thinking in a fight.

All I can see is that good old Thing will try to talk the Hulk down, but I think that the Hulk will make several claims about his exile, and how Reed exiled him and not the Thing.

With words like these it could make the Thing question his loyalty towards Reed, and that is after the smack down. :D
