Ok I'm just kinda bored at the moment so I decided to just do something at the spur of the moment. Well ok that's sorta a lie but oh well I'm not perfect. Anyways, below is a few examples of mock covers I made for my character SoulStar. I do these purely for fun and professional at the same time. I'm just cooky that way. Next one will be my mock storyboards.

Some pretty cool shit there. I especially like the simpler, more graphic cover concepts.

ty for the compliment. Yea I kinda borrow from all sorts of inspirational graphic style artist like frank miller and mike mignola(he checks this site alot!)
And I promise to explain in further detail about the character. Matter of fact i'm doing an experimental comic of him with story and such . I'll also post some of that stuff up when i get it more finished looking. Meanwhile next post will be most likely SoulStar's little supporting cast.

Ok I will do some breif explainations of the following characters in the links. All in order. Next post I do I might tell ya some of SoulStar's origins.Maybe.
1.Nate: Computer Technician,surveillance and genius. He is SoulStar's eyes and ears on current events and what is currently going on around him. Asian american male who is one of the top best hackers known, yet he manages to keep himself a low profile while at the same time laundrying money from all sorts of swiss buisness bank accounts for his daily resources. Knows SoulStar's secret civilian identity.
2.Laurie:SoulStar's best friend and surrogate sisterly figure. Her family took him in back in his wild highschool days. Not only is she his roommate at the college dormitory that both of them attend but she is also a very open lesbian who frequently goes out nearly all the time with the next 'flavor of the month'. Known to act more masculine then feminine. Works as an adult entertainment dancer. Knows SoulStar's secret civilian identity
3.Mae: SoulStar's on and off girlfriend. She lives at the same campus dormitory as he does. Known to be quiet and quiet knowledgable in literature and writing. Works at the local campus library. Knows SoulStar's secret civilian identity.

I will tell you SoulStar's origins soon enough but first I thought I at least do some explantions of the gear he wears and even some little examples of his moves.
Full list of gear:Advanced matching pair of blue lens googles and metallic shoes, hidden upper body armor underneathe the costume, twin pairs of magnums,wristblades hidden under the sleeves, one aerodynamic star,and explosive aerodynamic hook rings located on the sides of his pants.
The goggles and shoes are stolen government property. Here's a breif list of what they are capable of doing.
Goggles:Nightvision mode,x-ray vision mode, wireless internet connection displayed through the lens for the wearer, able to download any internet contents(mp3s,mpegs,jpegs,doc,etc.),and infra red mode.
Shoes:Gives the wearer super human agility and speed, insert soles have shock absorbers to take any hard damage after performing dangerous bounds from as far as 100 feet, soles are able to suctions onto any hard surfaces.

Code name:SoulStar
Real Name:: Dredrick Wilson
Age::21
Height::5"10"
Brief History: Born in Chicago, Dredrick lived with his father, who was a cop, up until during his preteens when his father was murdered during a routine traffic stop. After that incident young Dredrick(or Dred to his friends)was tossed around from foster home to foster home. Eventually Dred joined a street gang as his own way of rebelling and to release some built up angst. During his gang banger years he learned the skills of thievery and a lil bit of martial arts. One day his gang heard about a secret military base outside the harbor areas and they wanted to make a name for themselves by stealing and looting whatever they could. However their plan completely back fired when several got caught sneaking into the base.After the near botch incident at the military base, Dred was forced to abandon his fellow gangbangers when they got caught by security. When trying to escape, he ran into a weapons cache room where inside all of the advanced military gear he found highly classified pair of goggles and shoes. That very same equipment, which he quickly suited up, aided in his escape. Unfortunately he was caught by authorities later on at his grandmothers, but did manage to sneak away the equipment He was brought to justice and had to serve two years in juvie. After that incident, he decided to his live life more straighter, finish up his education and go to college. He is now currently going to college for arts in sculpture. His learnt sculptery has not only earned him recognition in the artistic culture, but it let him become more creative into building his latest project:SoulStar.

Alrighty as promise here are some samples of my comic book artwork. These are in black and white with no words, except for the cover which has words. I'm thinking about showing these off and improving them every once or twice a week and then finally coloring the entire thing. But yea anywhos here are some of them as promised and I even inked them too. Which I barely do. I personally think it ain't too shabby. But that's just me.

Thanks and glad ya noticed that. I've been using those mock storyboards I've posted way earlier as a guide for myself in the style and motion of the panels. Not t mention I've ben practicing like crazy on silhouttes to get a more darker feel of what I want to show. In any case as I mentioned, I will post some more soon enough once I've got them looking the way I want.

Hell as we speak I'm working on yet another one. Eventually I'll get to coloring and put some text. for now just enjoy the pics.

Y'all might be wondering why there are three similar messages right on top of each other from me. Apologies, from my end it was telling me that those messages didn't go through. A hiccup in the system or something. Still it's funny as hell lol. Ah well happy accidents

Hey two totally different subjects. And apologies for not posting a damn thing but i had a death in a family, had to attend a few weddings, and been job hunting like crazy. Ain't life grand? Anywho's down to the dirty deed.
The first pic is something I did on the whim. Sort like a mock cover. Which I tend to do alot but hey it's fun.

The second one is a freelance job I did for a local rap duo by the names of 'J-bone& Big Dude". This was given to me by whim but I managed to have fun with it. It is a cd cover they plan to use.

And the last one is a sketch version of a mock cover for the Young Avengers from Marvel company cause it 's my fave book. Here's hoping for a damn season two.

Next update I will have a full color version of that mock cover and I plan to turn it in to marvel just for kicks.
