Really, no thread? I thought we loved Johns' work on this.
The final part of the Star Saphire story. Nice Acuna art. A great (and funny) move by GL to trick the Saphire.
Good stuff here, and nobody talking. Meanwhile, there are like ten pages on the lame Countdown.

In my opinion this is the best super hero book on the market. Anybody looking for that classic super hero action book should look no further. And the art is great.

#20 was a good end to a god arc. I wasnt to sure what to think about the Pink ring and all but its whatever. Annual comes out soon and that should be a great story. And yes, GL is the best.

maybe everyone is still trying to process the idea that there will know be 5-6 different color ring bears based on emotion?
love=pink=zamorians
fear=yellow=sinestro's corp
??=green= guardians
Not sure what I think of the idea.

The Green Lanterns work on willpower. Their rings could be full-on charged and they'd be worth squat without the willpower to back it up, and I think what they'll be building towards with this direction is an "emotional spectrum," with the point eventually being that the only way to overcome these emotions is through willpower, and that is what makes a Green Lantern- the willpower to overcome fear, love, anger, etc.

I counted 4 extra, empty 'pillars'....and ma brain said, "Uh-oh...this doesn't look good."

yeah, me too. but it what way? bad, in which too many cast of characters may dilute a possibly great intergalactic battle, or bad, as in there will be lots of teams to deal with and fight. ;)

This was a pretty satisfying conclusion to the Star Sapphire arc. I was almost convinced that Cowgirl or Carol was going to turn into Star again but not making them either is a nice touch since it still opens up the character towards future stories.
The nude scene was hilarious but oddly....hot. I almost expected them to make out, plus both Carol and Cowgirl are well endowed. The revelation at the end is another really awesome future plot, you've got the Zamaron's love rings, Sinestro's fear rings, and GL's will rings. I guess we should expect red, orange, purple and blue power signatures or something,
As far as the back-up tale goes, the Bedovian one was my least favorite of them but I can see what they're going to try to do with the character and make him some sort of super sniper/stealth dude. Man, this title and the Green Lantern Corps are firing on all cylinders lately now that the Sinestro Corps story is almost underway.
That's gonna be an epic story well worth people's buck. I have a feeling that the upcoming storyline will be a high point for the book given the extensive amount of set-up and maybe even has the potential to be a modern classic if all goes well.

Casting Cowgirl and Carol as Hal's Betty & Veronica is a nice touch. As was the mysterious Power Battery Rainbow Johns is cooking up...

I'm still holding on to my theory that Blue Beetle's scarab is somehow connected to the spectrum. Maybe the aliens the Guardians went to war with took the idea from them and made blue items of power.
Also, now that Carol's divorced I wonder what will happen with her and Hal's future.

I wonder are they going for the traditional seven colors (roy g biv) or the more updated six excluding indigo.

Anyone know if DC plans to release GL in TPB and not just HC?

Regarding this arc as a whole, I have to admit it's the first one I've been kind of iffy about. Don't get me wrong, it's been entertaining enough, but the whole Zamaron strategy just lost me. I'm still not quite sure how the Green Lantern fits into all that. But anyway, this issue in particular? Gold.
I was already a Hal Jordan fan, but any hero that actually steals a page from the Captain Kirk play book for dealing with interstellar crises and makes it work has my serious thumbs up.

I don't know what it is about this book, but when ever they get a guest artist to fill in, he really sucks. I had a real tough time reading the Star Saphire story. Loving the Sinestro corp backups though. Now that we're about to get back to the war, its going to be nice to get the head crew back in place.
Not sure how I feel about about the rainbow corps. I always liked that Green Lanterns were known throughout the galaxy as the most powerful weapons ever. I Love that there is an Evil version of that most powerful weapon. Now that they are trying to introduce a third corp of the most powerful ever..... I'm a little afraid that it will start to dilute the coolness factor of the lanterns. Its bad enough that GLcorps was weakening the lanterns to pansies. Still I love what Geoffs been doing here, and I'm more than willing to see where he takes it.
Lets just keep a good artist on the book!

The Crisis of Infinite Rings is coming up. The color thing is quite silly as color is a function of human primate vision. To have the universe codes as our eyes seem them is dumb.
