Another victim of DC mismanagement of a good character thus spoiling their selling power.
See: Superman, Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman

To be honest, I enjoy Joe Kelly's run on SuperGirl. :o But I think after issue #19, I probably dropped the book. But not before getting the third TPB, Identity that has issues 10-19 which will come out in November. ;)

Pointless. She brings nothing to the Superman family. Kara from Aliens versus Superman would have been way more interesting. Of course, that story is probably no longer canon so she doesn't exist anymore anyway.

I'd use words that I can't use on this board.

Generally? Unappealing. What I've read of her she hasn't been very likable, and the artists they've had drawing her, yeesh.
I'm really hoping the new team turns that around. I'm plan to start reading it then when they come on the book.

Funny.
a Good Laugh.
I love characters who are a complete mess.
Damm sight more entertaining than any previous "Supergirl" or anyone with "Super" in their name that didn't also have "boy" and only the "Superboy" Kon-El.

The way I normally describe the character is as an anorexic sex giraffe.
Of course, with the new look coming in, I'll have to revise that one maybe.
The main term I use to describe Supergirl is superfluous. At the moment, the character exists as a kind of hollow shell, whisked hither and yon at the whim of the writer to fight character x, fall in love with character y, or get involved in situation z, with no real direction or goal.
The reason writers have no consistent vision of the character is that there IS no character. She's a hollow cypher.
And seriously, in a DC Universe where we already have a Superman, a Power Girl, a Wonder Woman and a Mary Marvel, what's left to do with the character?
Horrible character that has gotten worse and worse and worse. Allstars Batman and Robin is MUCH more entertaining than this. Still waiting for the healing process...maybe it'll never come.

In her own title and Outsiders: A spoiled and damaged brat (a really bad combination) with minimal interest in anything other than herself. Needs to heal and to grow up.
In LoSH and B&B: A slightly bratty but well-meaning adolescent. The person that her own title is trying for but failing to write.

Generally speaking, "wha-?" is my reaction these days.

Urrrgh.
That's a word, right?
How about "In need of Super-Therapy" or "Anorexic train wreck who gets her kicks going around telling everyone she's more powerful than Superman while beating the holy hell out of them?"

Badly in need of a writer who can write "real" teen girls, not adolescent fantasy girls with chips on their shoulders.
