Man, this trade is tits. First, instead of paying $15 for the TPB of "The Killing Joke," just buy this. Because you get that great Joker story along with a slew of other cool Moore stories for $20. Economically, this is a hell of a bargain.

But to get to the point. If you were never a big Superman fan like myself, Moore will make you appreciate the Man of Steel in ways you never thought were possible. Although most people rave the shit out of "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?", and rightly so, the best Superman story is actually Superman Annual #11, a tale that guest stars Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman, with Mogul attaching an alien lifeform to Supes chest that incapacitates him--and makes him dream. You'll get to see Superman's fantasy, and you'll also get to see him very pissed when he wakes up.

Not much to do with Superman, but still cool:

Moore has one of the best senses of humor in comics, and this trade shows it off well, collecting a few shorts of his from Green Lantern Corps and The Omega Men.

Ever heard of the DC hero Vigilante? Maybe not, but Moore crafts a pretty good story for this usually boring title.

Finally, it's Alan Moore. Read it now.

I picked it up a while ago and really enjoyed it. Bought it mostly for The Killing Joke, but the other stories included is of very high quality. I enjoyed all of them, the Vigilante (never heard of him before) story was surprisingly good as was the Clayface story. So if you haven't read it yet, do so!

I got a bunch of tpb's recently, and this was one of them.......I liked "The Killing Joke" and "For the Man who has Everything", but didn't care that much for "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow." ....I notice there's a lot of hype about that two-parter, but I'll just assume it was a great story for its time, or maybe it just doesn't appeal to me as much as it does to others.

I read a couple pages of the Vigilante story, and it seems pretty good. I look forward to reading the rest.

And yeah, this tpb is an absolute bargain considering you'd have to pay a lot more for "The Killing Joke" tpb by itself, and it's great to read all these different Moore stories I may not have caught, otherwise.

I loved the Green Arrow/Black Canary story. It was spot on perfect, especially the crook who had a nervous seizure everytime he saw a superhero, and the hoods who gave themselves up to BC, because they didn't want to ruin their rep on the street, and called her "Wonder Woman".

I picked it up for 50% off at a con, I bought it mainly for the Killing Joke but was pleasantly suprised. The Green Arrow and Vigilante stories are amazing, but the best one is "Mogo doesn't Socialize" (or something along those lines) that actually made me laugh at a comic.

And wasn't "For the man Who Has Everything" made into a JLU episode?

I think companies should do more collections like this. Creator centric and not character centric, Wildstorm's doing a trade dedicated to Alan Moore as well called Wild Worlds that collects: Spawn/WildC.A.T.s #1-4,
Voodoo #1-4,
Deathblow: By Blows #1-3,
Wildstorm Spotlight Featuring Majestic #1

Yeah, changed up a bit, but essentially the same story.
