Man, this trade is tits. First, instead of paying $15 for the TPB of "The Killing Joke," just buy this. Because you get that great Joker story along with a slew of other cool Moore stories for $20. Economically, this is a hell of a bargain.
But to get to the point. If you were never a big Superman fan like myself, Moore will make you appreciate the Man of Steel in ways you never thought were possible. Although most people rave the shit out of "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?", and rightly so, the best Superman story is actually Superman Annual #11, a tale that guest stars Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman, with Mogul attaching an alien lifeform to Supes chest that incapacitates him--and makes him dream. You'll get to see Superman's fantasy, and you'll also get to see him very pissed when he wakes up.
Not much to do with Superman, but still cool:
Moore has one of the best senses of humor in comics, and this trade shows it off well, collecting a few shorts of his from Green Lantern Corps and The Omega Men.
Ever heard of the DC hero Vigilante? Maybe not, but Moore crafts a pretty good story for this usually boring title.
Finally, it's Alan Moore. Read it now.
