I am also a big fan of the mummy!

You have a great love of detail and it shows. But the mummy page obscures so much in deep shadow that the detail that does show, really leaps out. As a fan of Mignola, you know one of his strengths is in what he doesn't show... Just something to think about....
The second daredevil is really sweet too!

"Noted detective "Sir Basil Redbottom" has vowed to catch the notorious "M". In other news Ambassador William Bones escaped an attempt on his life when a "buzzbomb fly" he accidentally swallowed did not detonate, no one has claimed responsibility.

just a bit of fun at the ole drawing board. hope yoall enjoyed. thanks ,bobbykro

Your work is phenominal! Really great stuff. My favorite has to be that second Silver Surfer.

I am enjoying your pulp era illustrations...nicely done. The Lobster Johnson Magazine cover is spot on. The second LJ one could be the cover of a paperback...like the Bantam Doc Savage covers.

bobbykro

well heres the latest piece... took some time (about a 1 1/2 pencil stage off & on).
reason for the procrastination.. wasnt confident in my artistic talent for full picture (versus) my portrait style type of art.
Know you'll see some Franklin Booth influencs in there ( as he is one of my fav pen & ink illustrators), but the piece was really inspired by a wrk by Barry Windsor Smith that I seen on the internet(which I can't locate now) don't recall the title but it has a ghost walking thru some woods.
well hope you like............ later

Another sick piece. Nice to see someone else is old enough to know who Jeff Jones and The Studio are. Can any of the other young whipper-snappers name the other artists involved with The Studio. After that we'll have a question on who were the Crusty Bunkers and what company did they mostly work for.

Anyone?

Mk

Here's a clue; three members of The Studio were also involved in The Crusty Bunkers and now one of the members is now a woman (?).

Good Luck,
Mk

Gorgeous!

I feel my nose stuck full into chain mail, 'Hedera Helix' and bone, without necessarily háving to smell anything..!

The (way swell) "Studio" (of which Kaluta may be another favourite I say) was somehow very closely followed in the Netherlands (which seems rather oblivious to much of note in comics, pulp and horror tradition).
