I tend to read a lot of books about music, including biographies, and I'm just wondering what music biographies people have read, and what they thought of them.

My current favorites are The Beatles, by Bob Spitz (it had some inaccuracies, but it was well-written, and never once boring). Also, Motley Crue's The Dirt is one of the most entertaining books I've ever read, in any genre.

Any favorite music biographies out there?

I loved The Dirt, Scar Tissue and Starman.

Brain Wilson one. It's either called Wouldn't it be Nice or I Just Wasn't Made for These Times. Mike Love sued him over it. It's a fascinating read.
