Marvel
Criminal #6: Sweet! that month off was a killer.
Iron Man: Hypervelocity #5 of 6: Really enjoy this weird little mini. Shame no one else is reading.
Irredeemable Ant man #8: That's a good question, who is drawing this one?

DC/Vertigo/Wildstorm:
The Spirit #6: Double sweet! This is the best series DC is putting out.
Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes #30: Dominators about to get beat up. Should be great as always.
Testament #18: Lesson from the last issue: You shouldn't put the regular artists name on the cover, and a fill in do the actual interior art.
Ninja Scroll #9: Somebody at DC/Wildstorm must really enjoy or believe in this series, since it's still being solicited. I'm enjoying it, but it's doing numbers only slightly better the Johnny DC line.

Image
Loaded Bible 2-Blood of Christ: The first one was sacreligious fun, so I'm done for this one. Plus if I'm not mistaken, Mike Norton art.
Savage Dragon Archieves Vol 2: I was worried that I had missed this, as Amazon made it seem like it was already out. Can't wait to get into it though.

Boom! Studios
Warhammer 40k #4: Fun book so far but only for fans of the game already, as there's a bit of info that is just skipped over as assumed knowledge. Lovely art though.

Dark Horse
Star Wars Legacy #12: Bought issues 8-11 along with 4, and got all caught up. Really enjoying this. Everything a Star Wars book should be.

No Diamond shipment for me this week, but I got a couple of other comics:

PhD - Piled Higher and Deeper book 3
One of my favourite online comics (http://www.phdcomics.com/comics.php). This third collection just came out.

Astérix et ses Amis
A 60-page hommage to the Asterix artist, Albert Uderzo, by 30 well-known French and other artists. The list includes Stuart Immonen, German artist Brösel (Werner), Milo Manara, Henk Kuijpers and French names like Van Hamme, Baru, Batem, Jidehem, Laudec/Cauvin, Arleston/Mourier, Tibet, Dany, Walthery and Zep.

First in Space
GN from Oni Press about the ape(s?) they shot into space before humans.

Shenanigans
Another Oni GN. A romantic comedy.

Korgi
A cross between comic and picture-book. Interesting graphic style with lots of crosshatching.

Shrine of the Morning Mist vol.4

InuBaka vol.2
The title literally means "DogCrazy" and fits quite well.

From Eroica With Love vol.9
Still one of the most hilarious comics. Ever.

To Terra vol.2

Ooh, that ASTERIX ET SES AMIS book sounds very cool. I hope Sterling reprints that one, too. I just picked up ASTERIX AND THE CLASS ACT volume, which is a collection of 14 short stories that Goscinny and Uderzo did. Can't wait to go through that one.

This has to be one of the highest quality weeks for me in a long time. I'm honestly stumped for what I'm going to read first.

Spirit #6--I can't completely quit monthly books and I blame this book
Wonder Woman #9--I've lost interest until this book gets straightened out with a steady writer.

Casanova vol. 1: Luxuria HC--Woo-hoo!!! Can't wait to re-read, as my issues are scattered all over the place.
Fell vol. 1: Feral City HC--EM's Pick O' the Week!!!
Fell vol. 1: Feral City TP--Graduation gift for one of my volunteers
Unique #3--Guess I should finish reading #1, huh?

Captain America #26--Even with no Cap, I'm dying to read this
Criminal #6--Yes!
Doctor Strange: The Oath TP--Finally!
Fantastic Four #546
Silver Surfer Omnibus HC--Heh. DHL is going to pissed this week.
Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane vol. 3: My Secret Life digest TP--Woot! This picks up from where I stopped with the issues.

Street Angel vol. 1 TP--A back ordered item that is finally arriving

Owly Plush Toy--Back ordered this for our niece. The irony is that since that order we've seen Andy at a con and could have just bought from him directly.

Wait for Trade
--------------
Birds of Prey--Now that the trades have come within six months of the recent issues, I'm cutting back to trade to save a few bucks. I may crack and go back to monthly for a bit when McKeever begins.
Hellblazer--Related Question: Anyone here read Diggle's Swamp Thing? Was it good?
Robin
Dynamo 5
Iron Man: Hypervelocity--Adam Warren!
newuniversal--Reviews seem mixed, but I like the creative team
She-Hulk 2--See BoP comment (minus the McKeever part)

Iron Man: Hypervelocity #5 of 6: Really enjoy this weird little mini. Shame no one else is reading.
I can only hope more people are doing what I'm doing and waiting for the trade. Sure, it's a desperate hope, but hope nonetheless.

About three years ago someone put up a "Who should write Iron Man" thread over on the Marvel side of CBR, and Adam Warren was in my top three, so I am really excited for this.

I've really been enjoying it so far. If you're a fan of Warren, you'll probably like this, although the art is more standard american super hero style, than any kind of manga-style. Issue 5 was good as always, can't wait to see how it wraps up. Hope for you that they don't go the route of Livewires and only release it in digest size.

I am so grateful that I bought Livewires in issue format first. Looking at that digest atually causes my pupils to make a sound as they focus on the tiny caption boxes. :p

Guess I'll have to check this out the next time that I am in my LCS. Flipped through the book on Wednesday but didn't think to look at the back cover.

Ooh, that ASTERIX ET SES AMIS book sounds very cool. I hope Sterling reprints that one, too.
I suppose they will, eventually. So far, it's been published in only 4 countries (and 5 languages (http://www.asterix.com/bourse/cgi-local/gale.pl?lic=n0000000000&typ=&crit=&crit2=&choix=albed&width=864&aff=1)), AFAIK. Even the French original came out just a month ago (April 25th, on Uderzo's 80th birthday), so many translations just aren't ready, yet. The German edition, for example, is already scheduled, but for October.

You can see a few panels from many of the participants' entries in this preview (http://www.asterix.tm.fr/80ans/indexalb.htm).

Trivia: 400 000 copies of the book were printed in France, 70 000 of which were apparently sold in the first week. That put the book at #1 on the weekly French sales charts (http://www.bdzoom.com/index.cfm?page=display&class=article_general&object=dosx20070509132645&rub=reportage), where it stayed (http://www.bdzoom.com/index.cfm?page=display&class=article_general&object=dosx20070516191330&rub=reportage) for at least 3 weeks (http://www.bdzoom.com/index.cfm?page=display&class=article_general&object=dosx20070523191924&rub=reportage) (further numbers aren't available yet). The somewhat comparable "Class Act" started out with 500 000 copies, while the last few "real" Asterix volumes were all printed at about 3 Million copies, according to Wikipedia.

Edit: I've adjusted my previous posting to include some more books I got today.

I'll put this where it belongs, in the 5/30 thread.
