Maaldor? Who is he?

One thing I've always wanted to ask but just never thought of asking is this:

Who the HELL is Maaldor? You know, one of the three villains (along with Icicle and Mirror Master) who are blasted by Krona during Crisis on Infinite Earths. He looks sorta hyperborian or fantasy-based. Who was he a villain of?

Maaldor the Darklord was an other dimensional being of evil and madness. He was teh most powerful thing in his dimension and this caused him to get bored. To fix this problem he kidnapped Superman and Power Girl and made them battle him. Maaldor almost defeated them both but Superman tricked him into using his powers on himself. The result was the creation of a new dimension based off his insanity.

Later he reappeared and tried to drive Superman insane. Superman defeated him with the help of Madame Xanadu and two ordinary people. (a housewife and teenager). Maaldor next appeared asking Superman for help when his madness was threatening his dimension.Superman teamed up with Phantom Stranger and the Joker (Yeah, you read that right.) to journey through Maaldor's mind and perform a lobotomy of sorts that solved the problem.

Maaldor next tried to attack Oa and drain the Power battery. Despite inference from members of the GLC, Maaldor managed to gain netrance into our dimension. A GL named Arkkis Chumuck sacrificed himself in an attempt to regain the energy Maaldor had stolen. After this battle, Maaldor appears in Crisis on Infinite Earths where he's killed.

Nope, he fought Superman plenty of times in DC Comics Presents. Pretty lame villain overall, IMO.

Don't remember him to be honest and i had that dc presents comic with power girl. :D
