Hi. I just had another thread in the Marvel section for this kind of thread. I thought I just might start here in the DC Universe also.

I just thought I might start a thread here in the motivations that define different DC characters. I just wanted to see if most of the readers/audience view these DC characters the same way, similar in a way, or different from each other.

We can name the DC character. Then a brief sentence or detailed paragraph if you like on what defines that particular DC character. It can be any DC character whether popular or not.

Batman: He is obviously defined by witnessing the murder of his parents as a child. It helped usher and develop the Batman persona. He is defined by the colorful villains in his history of fighting crime. He is a reknowned detective. His version of the law is a bent crowbar and not a straight one. And he has gotten paranoid in the 90s.

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan): Considering he was the Parallax character, he is now defined by his redemption and becoming a hero again.

Black Canary: After her stint in the Birds of Prey, I have come to define her as the baddest motherf'ker in the planet next to Lady Shiva, Batgirl, Batman, and Deathstroke.

I'll add some more. I just wanted to get this rolling. Feel free to add yours or even use the same characters mentioned by other posters in this thread.
