Stories like this are what convinced me that Kanigher had a deepseated contempt for the super-hero genre* and its devotees. Why bother with logic or coherence when you think your audience is a flock of mouthbreathers?

I don't think that Kanigher considered either superheroes or superhero comics fans at all, let alone enough to expend emotions, contempt or any other, on them.
