I have NO idea where this belongs.
Music?
Anime?
TV Movies?
It has all of them.
Korean songtress Ivy does a clip with scennes lifted almost frame-by-frame from the FF:AC movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gkwcs29pe8&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ejapanprobe%2Ecom%2F%3Fp%3D 1538)
Some call it ripoff, some call it plagiarism... me, I just call it great fun to watch. :D

Wow... well, this is so obvious that I think plagiarism isn't a fair call... I mean, if they claimed they were being original, that's one thing, but this is beyond overt. It's more like cosplay on a masterful level.
The thing is, unless they had some sort of agreement with Square and so on, this also constitutes bold intellectual property ownership infringement, at least as it's seen by the US. Admittedly the rules in Asia are a little different (and lord knows, there's a storm a-comin' over Asia's apparently cavalier position on IP infringement when it comes to US content), but this still seems pretty outrageous.
It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, comes from this. In the meantime... live-action Tifa church fight is pretty awesome.

(different laws, limited-time monopoly vs perpetual ownership, etc.)

Anyone else notice a somewhat racist undercurrent in many of the posts or even the intial post? There is a very big s---storm between Japan and Korea. Japan and China have some issues too. I keep hearing tales of bad blood between Japan and Korea. Neither country is that racially tolerant. Of course, Japan is one of the least ethnically diverse countries in the world.
I'm on vacation here and was with my Mexican/Italian friend, Puerto Rican friend, black friend and my hairy Greek self. We joked that were were the most racially diverse area of Japan.
Hell, my friend in Japan said friends of his here have reported hearing trucks going around talking about keeping Japan pure and kicking out all forigners. (Mind you, the truck thing is not uncommon. We just heard one this morning from some guy going around asking for used appliances.)
Plus we have her using Beethoven in the song itself. Then again, Evanescence used Mozart on their new album.
Also, let's not forget Gwen Stefani doing the same thing with a scene from the anime Kite in her music video for Ex Girlfriend.

Like the chinese, I think the koreans harbour deep resentment toward Japan due to its past expansions/conquests.
The fact that Japan has never apologised for it doesn´t help matters.
