While people complain about George Lucas dissing Spider-man 3 ( I know it's George Lucas but c'mon Spidey 3 ain't that great). It looks Peter Jackson and Steven Spielburg will be joining forces to direct Tintin the famous Belgian comic strip series created by Herge.
Looks like both filmakers will direct three that will be shot back to back. Apparently it will be CGI with motion capture work and keep to the art style in the comics.
Lookee here. (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=20387)

The most important question is ...
... who plays Captain Haddock?

Hmmm. I only can wonder what will the three chosen adventures be. No matter which ones are discarded, they sure will cause a lot of controversy amongst Tintin fandom.

Can't be worst then the Transformers fans.
I'm rooting for an adaptation of Tintin in Thailand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tintin_in_Thailand).

Am I the only guy here who believes Tintin to be one of the worst properties on the market?

I guess so. I think it's a pretty strong property. First of all it's a family friendly adventure story and these are the movie that do the best box office wise and it's got a massive world wide following.
There's some outdated and offensive stuff in the older books (like racial stereotyping and colonist attitudes) but for the most part they are fun books.

I vaguely remember a cartoon Tintin on HBO. It sucked.

Damn straight - and I heard it was live action not CG so the hunt for Tintin begins!

Bear in mind, when Peter Jackson New Zealandizes something, he usually ends up with something like this. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfkHkdu5IEI)

Read the article. It's going to be Motion Capture like Polar Express. There will be an actor playing TinTin but he's going to do voice and motion capture work.
