I got bored, so I thought I'd toss out a slew of bands like the first two guys did (nods) and see what sticks for everyone else. Plus it's fun. A lot of them are new or new-ish... or whatever popped into my playlist while typing. So, without further ado:
1.) The Arctic Monkeys
2.) The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
3.) Hard-Fi
4.) We Are Scientists
5.) Band of Horses
6.) Rock Kills Kid
7.) The Nixons
8.) Thursday
9.) Sparta
10.) Pearl Jam
11.) Barenaked Ladies
12.) Incubus
13.) Lostprophets
14.) Sister Hazel
15.) Local H
16.) The Gin Blossoms
17.) The Police
18.) Aerosmith
19.) Peter Frampton
20.) Yellowcard
21.) Snow Patrol
22.) The Smashing Pumpkins
23.) Sugarcult
24.) Chicago
25.) Steve Miller Band
Okay, 25 is good.

1.) The Arctic Monkeys
Who the fuck are the Arctic Monkeys? HAHAHA, me so funny. Other than that, they're pretty okay. Nothing special.
8.) Thursday
Never liked them, always thought they were inferior to Taking Back Sunday.
11.) Barenaked Ladies
My dad once made me delete a song of theirs I had on my computer because he thought it was porn. I think anyone here can guess what song it was.
12.) Incubus
Nothing special here.
17.) The Police
I dig all their popular songs when I hear them on the radio. Synchronicity is on my Amazon wishlist.
18.) Aerosmith
Same as The Police, sans the album on the wishlist. Though I do really like the Aerosmith/Run DMC collaboration.
20.) Yellowcard
Crap.
21.) Snow Patrol
I liked their song when it was played on last season's finale of ER, but not enough to buy their album.
23.) Sugarcult
In Junior High, I pretended to like these guys to get close with a girl. Failed miserably.

1.) Pretty overrated in my eyes.
3.) I liked the handful of songs I heard.
4.) I liked the handful of songs I heard.
10.) I've been meaning to listen to more.I like Evenflow,Jeremy,Do the Evolution and World Wide Suicide.
11.) Are they even still making music?
17.) Pretty good pop tunes.I don't see the need for them to reform though.
21.) Meh.Some songs are okay but they seem kinda bland.
22.) Good stuff.I was rediscovering Mellon Collie on the bus this morning.

1.) The Arctic Monkeys
I'm unable to dig them; I was a huge Libertines fan, and they don't do a good enough job replacing them.
2.) The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Can't say I've heard of them.
3.) Hard-Fi
I like "Cash Machine," mostly for the "There's A Hole In The Bucket" quote at the end.
4.) We Are Scientists
Boring.
5.) Band of Horses
Boring.
6.) Rock Kills Kid
Heard of, haven't heard.
7.) The Nixons
Heard of, haven't heard.
8.) Thursday
Boring.
9.) Sparta
It's a Weezer side project, right? Someone's side project, anyway. Boring.
10.) Pearl Jam
I enjoy the hits, but I don't need to hear them again for a long, long time.
11.) Barenaked Ladies
Fun at first, and then increasingly annoying.
12.) Incubus
Okay pop band, in that broody, angsty late-90s way.
13.) Lostprophets
Heard of, not heard.
14.) Sister Hazel
I enjoyed the hit when it was on the radio, what, ten years ago?
15.) Local H
I didn't enjoy the hit when it was on the radio, what, ten years ago?
16.) The Gin Blossoms
One of the best pop bands of the 90s. A one-trick pony, but it's a fun trick.
17.) The Police
I used to be a big fan. They're slowly edging towards unlistenable for me.
18.) Aerosmith
Really good cheese-rock.
19.) Peter Frampton
Really bad cheese-rock.
20.) Yellowcard
Heard of, not heard.
21.) Snow Patrol
Boring.
22.) The Smashing Pumpkins
One of the better alt-ascendant bands of the 90s. Not nearly as good as they think they are, though.
23.) Sugarcult
Heard of, not heard.
24.) Chicago
A terrific prog-jazz band for three or four albums. A horrible easy-listening band for twenty-some albums after that.
25.) Steve Miller Band
Surprisingly good, in that hippies-play-the-blues kind of way. They're more than just the hits. Not much more, but some.
And I'd be prepared to bet that I wouldn't be much of a fan of all the ones that I've heard of but not heard.

1.) The Arctic Monkeys - they're alright in a stupid kind of way. the kind of music that would normally suck but is enjoyable if you turn your brain off.
2.) The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - completely awful
3.) Hard-Fi - Who?
4.) We Are Scientists - Never heard them, but they got their name from a Cap'n Jazz song so that's 1-Up for them.
5.) Band of Horses - They're pretty good, but nothing to get excited about. But They're a lot better than Horse The Band.
6.) Rock Kills Kid - I don't know, but judging by their name they probably suck.
7.) The Nixons - see above.
8.) Thursday - They're alright. But they really derivative. A lot of bands out there do the same thing but better and with more integrity.
9.) Sparta - When At The Drive-In broke all of the talent went to the Mars Volta.
10.) Pearl Jam - They have some pretty good songs but I'm getting bored and I'm going to end this prematurely.
11.) Barenaked Ladies
12.) Incubus
13.) Lostprophets
14.) Sister Hazel
15.) Local H
16.) The Gin Blossoms
17.) The Police
18.) Aerosmith
19.) Peter Frampton
20.) Yellowcard
21.) Snow Patrol
22.) The Smashing Pumpkins
23.) Sugarcult
24.) Chicago
25.) Steve Miller Band

7.) The Nixons
Only know one or two songs. Not enough to form much of an opinion.
10.) Pearl Jam
Love.
11.) Barenaked Ladies
Hate.
15.) Local H
Now that's good stuff.
16.) The Gin Blossoms
Great first album. The guys in the band are complete and utter cunts for cheating the guy who wrote most of the album out of his royalties, though. They deserve anything bad that happened to them since he died.
17.) The Police
Love the Police, but other than the first album, there's lots of filler on their discs.
18.) Aerosmith
Love the 70s stuff. Their comeback? I dunno, I liked Permanent Vacation when it came out, but it doesn't stand the test of time. Done With Mirrors and Pump are great, though.
19.) Peter Frampton
Worthless teenybopper garbage.
22.) The Smashing Pumpkins
Billy Corgan may be a micromanaging megalomaniac, but he's done some fuckin' great music.
24.) Chicago
Horrible. The antithesis of rock 'n' roll.
25.) Steve Miller Band
Flawless 70s pop. Their greatest hits album is the classic 70s party album.

10.) Pearl Jam
I think Vitalogy is a classic. Most of their stuff has memorable songs on it, and then filler. I feel they should have thrown in the towel by now.
17.) The Police
One of my favorite bands of the 1980s. Synchronicity is one of my favorite albums. Broke up too soon. Not sure about their comeback.
18.) Aerosmith They've put out some good music, for a second-rate Rolling Stones group.
19.) Peter Frampton
I can't help but think of Peter Frampton and think of growin' up in the 70s. Hearing his songs during summers, camping trips and ditching school. So in terms of nostalgia, Peter has his place.
22.) The Smashing Pumpkins
Love the song "1979". Always been curious about them, but just never bought a disc.
24.) Chicago
Used to hate these guys. But now....some of their 70s, early 80s pop fluff send me away. To a simpler time, so Chicago is growing on me.

It's a Weezer side project, right? Someone's side project, anyway. Boring.
Not a side project. They are a full-time band consisting of the conventional, emo and arena rock-loving two thirds of At the Drive In after the band broke up. They also toured with Incubus.
So yeah, boring.
(Funny how one of the members later defected to The Mars Volta citing the exact same reason.)

1.) The Arctic Monkeys I like "I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor;" the rest I don't care for.
2.) The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
3.) Hard-Fi
4.) We Are Scientists
Don't know these bands.
5.) Band of Horses - meh
6.) Rock Kills Kid - don't know 'em
7.) The Nixons - Didn't they sing "Popular?" Didn't care for that song.
8.) Thursday - Don't like 'em
9.) Sparta - Don't know 'em
10.) Pearl Jam - Great band. They've recorded some very touching ballads that are melodic yet saccharine free, and their quieter, slice of life, character-based songs are mostly excellent. Vedder's lyrical range is actually quite broad, and he was always the most soulful of the grunge singers (and--though there are many who would disagree with me, I think he was the best of those singers). I actually like most of their latter stuff better than most of their earlier stuff. Good cover band, too. Their version of Elvis' "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You" trumps the King's rendition.
11.) Barenaked Ladies - Irritating
12.) Incubus - Blech
13.) Lostprophets - I hope they stay that way.
14.) Sister Hazel - "All for You"--I couldn't avoid that song even when I was trying to do so; I've heard that entire album, and was mostly bored by it.
15.) Local H - Don't know 'em.
16.) The Gin Blossoms - Great pop songs, but many of them sound awfully similar to one another. Also another band whose songs--after awhile--I tried to run from, but those damn songs were played everywhere.
17.) The Police - Liked 'em more then than I do now; the drummer's something else, though. "Every Breath You Take" is still a creepy-ass song.
18.) Aerosmith - Great guitar player, great bass player, terrible singer (but pretty good songwriter). Their MTV Unplugged concert was the best thing they ever did (and I liked Pump and Toys in the Attic); their rendition of "Train Kept a Rollin'" on that show was off the hook.
19.) Peter Frampton - Great guitar player, and that's all I have to say about that.
20.) Yellowcard - No
21.) Snow Patrol - Pretentious music for me to snore by
22.) The Smashing Pumpkins - Pretentious music that has the touch of greatness about 1/3 of the time, which--considering how many songs they (or Corgan) have recorded--is a pretty good track record.
23.) Sugarcult - Nope.
24.) Chicago - AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! Does anybody really..........can't even finish the joke--too obvious. Actually, I can reminisce and dig some--SOME--of their early stuff, but the records I don't like, I hate with the passion of the thousand suns it takes to keep Cetera's hair naturally blonde.
25.) Steve Miller Band - Heard 'em way too much. Never--EVER--need to hear them again. I'm not dissing on the guy's music when I'm saying this (well, maybe a little), but I literally start to gurgle a bit when I hear their songs.
This is a fun one.
1.) The Arctic Monkeys
One of those bands i was supposed to like, but i never did.
2.) The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
...no idea
3.) Hard-Fi
Theses from me crib in Staines.
4.) We Are Scientists
They are funny...thats all.
5.) Band of Horses
Nope
6.) Rock Kills Kid
Why does this sound familar?
7.) The Nixons
At some outdoor multiband festival show a while back, i recall sleeping through their set. Until they played Sister, or whatever their hit was, i woke up long enough to say "I remeber this song"
9.) Sparta
Didn't dig them
10.) Pearl Jam
I miss mush mouth veddar better when he didn't become totaly obssesed with being neil young.
11.) Barenaked Ladies
I kinda liked them before one week, which i didn't like either because it got played all the time, or because it was annoying.
12.) Incubus
Incubus was alright when they were generic rock band. Then they became generic band who was known for having a cute lead singer.
14.) Sister Hazel
Have i ever told anyone i have a total, unexplained hardon for these guys? I don't know why, i just like them.
15.) Local H
They wrote eddie veddar, which would have been better if they made fun of him.
16.) The Gin Blossoms
I miss when pop music sounded like this.
17.) The Police
Sting wrote all his creepiest songs while with the police, and i thank them for that. Creepy is fun.
18.) Aerosmith
I loved them so much when i was in gradeschool, i still like Dream On.
19.) Peter Frampton
He talked with his friggen guitar!
20.) Yellowcard
Blink 182 or greenday, with a violin!
22.) The Smashing Pumpkins
Yeah, i was in junior high when they were still big, so i had to have some angsty memories.

14.) Sister Hazel

But I still quite like their first album. Less whiney, more rockin'.)

how can anyone be this wrong?
Naw, he's only half wrong.
Frampton did make the mistake of falling into the teenybopper trap, but he did have some really excellent pop tunes out there and his live album is one of the classics of the whole Stadium era.
However, Steve Miller is one of the best songwriters and one of the best musicians to grace Rock music and his greatest hits album has remained a steady seller for more then 30 years for a reason.

1.) The Arctic Monkeys
Can we say overhyped? Seriously, what is the deal with these guys? From what I've heard they're rubbish.
2.) The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Cool name but no idea.
3.) Hard-Fi
Er.
4.) We Are Scientists
Can't say.
5.) Band of Horses
Don't know 'em.
6.) Rock Kills Kid
See number 5.
7.) The Nixons
Okay, this is getting embarrassing.
8.) Thursday
Well, I've heard of the Sundays if that helps?
9.) Sparta
Heard of these guys but never heard anything by them.
10.) Pearl Jam
I don't like Grunge and I don't like 'em. Oh and Eddie Vedder is the guy responsible for that whole singing-like-you're-constipated-to-show-how-soulful-you-are trend. He's actually sort of OK but his influence is retched.
11.) Barenaked Ladies
Haven't heard enough to say one way or another. Seem okay enough.
12.) Incubus
13.) Lostprophets
14.) Sister Hazel
15.) Local H
16.) The Gin Blossoms
Yeah let's just save us some time. I don't know these guys even if I have heard of them.
17.) The Police
Great singles but I don't really like their albums from what I've heard and I don't like Sting's singing.
18.) Aerosmith
Eh. Third rate Stones rippoff. Some decent stuff in the seventies nonetheless but they're excruciatingly bad these days.
19.) Peter Frampton
Something of a wasted talent. Humble Pie is pretty good but I haven't had any burning desire to get his solo albums.
20.) Yellowcard
No idea.
21.) Snow Patrol
Heard them actually. Boring alt-rock. Who gives a crap?
22.) The Smashing Pumpkins
Ok, I suppose. Never got the big deal though.
23.) Sugarcult
No clue.
24.) Chicago
Good in their early days, not so much in their late days. From what I've heard anyway.
25.) Steve Miller Band
Some good pop songs but I could do without them in my CD collection.
