When is Dr. Doom coming back?

He's supposed to be in Mighty Avengers sometime. I'm not sure exactly when, but I have read several interviews with Bendis where he said he planned on using Dr. Doom as a villain in MA.

The rumors are true. Doom will show up in Mighty Avengers but I've heard rumors that he's having relationships with one female Mighty Avenger.;)

Each of these men has a piece to the Red Skull's plot. He makes a deal with Dr. Doom to give him information about his own potential future and that's a storyline that I'll hopefully get to (laughs)." Actually, the only one I can see Doom respecting is Black Widow. Wasn't BW once related to the Tsarist royal family, making her Russian artistocracy, possibly a royal herself?

And since she's a spy, I can see her letting him lay hands on her in order to extract info.

But would Marvel would give us a situation where, concerning two major characters, a female spy sleeps with a male villain to extract information?

It can be done and be rationalized. Hell, Rogue was set to go against Shield and her former teammates for Magneto until he decided otherwise. It's a new twist for a character to mix her up with such a main villian. I love those kind of stories. It should be done where the reader doesn't know that she's a spy though and it looks like she's really abandoning others for Doom's way of life.

Sue Richards seemed to think that he has mommy issues as well; a reference to one of the projects having something to do with Tony's mom. and Iron Maniac (Marvel Team-Up) definately had some skin issues.

I know he's the almighty Dr.Doom and all but when you come back from hell you have some things to take care before you start fighting superheroes again.

And can we please get anybody else, besides Hudlin, to write the Doom arc. Bendis will just mess him up, like he's done with Ares.

That's the thing though. Doom came back SIX MONTHS before the civil war in marvel time! Now he DID have a lot to do after "Authorive Action" took apart his country, but JMS retconned all that away too by implication when he said Doom still had a load of Doombots left, which the Waid arc explictly denied.

I don't think that Doom and Tony are alike with regards to their actions.

Tony is trying to ensure that super powered characters are kept under control. He wants them to be well trained and responsible for their actions. He is not trying to gain control of how regular people live their day to day lives, nor is he bringing in new legislation, nor is he attempting to become an emperor.

Doom on the other hand wants control of everything. He's not going to settle for simply ensuring that the superhuman community doesn't inadvertently destroy the planet. He wants control of all levels, granting himself both judicial and legislative authority on all matters.

The only thing that I feel makes Tony like Doom is that for once a hero is acting rationally and being proactive. Admittedly, I am not too happy with that decision, since I actually kind of like it when heroes remain naively optimistic and never really accomplish anything. It leads to comics that are less dreary and depressing than what we have now.

I'd love it if Doom showed up and saved the day. It's about time he had the spotlight firmly affixed to him for a bit and he's the only character in the Marvel Universe that I think is capable of rising above the rabble and beating the Skrulls single handedly.

I do hope he isn't a skrull though. Personally I doubt they'd be able to replace him, but as is 90% of the time Doom shows up it's a doombot. The last thing we need is to have to go back and say, "nope, this time it was a skrull".
