Waaaaaaaaa! I was writing a review of the issue for my blog (a terrific review!) ... and accidentally hit the "clear field" button instead of the "submit". No recapture either! *sniff* It took me 20 minutes to compose!

And now I have to prepare to head out to my screenwriters' group, so I can't recompose it until much later today.

So instead.... this quick note here: READ IT! It's a great issue, and a good jumping on point, if you haven't been reading the book yet!

And Gail! Great job!

"Honk"!!!! Loved it! ;)

Wow. First time I've started a thread here!

Awwwwww!

I was gonna start a thread myself but got distracted.

Truth is, I'm really proud of this next arc of Gen13, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the art team.

TONS of fun stuff is coming up, as the kids learn to rely on each other a little bit.

I really like it.

Thanks, Sarah!

Gail

Midnighter could've been a little more badass. I would've loved to see him stomp an entire superteam of teenagers into the ground to show 'em how reckless they are. Would've made the "watch yourselves" point even sweeter.

Good issue, though. I guess we're going to follow a series of issues where each character gets to narrate, considering Caitlin was the focus of the last issue and Roxy was this issue's focus. Kinda' like that, and it's something I'd like to see more of in other team books, because one of the things I hated most about Meltzer's Justice League was the rainbow of fuckin' caption boxes.

I like the art also. I just picked up seven and eight on a whim, and I thought they were pretty good. I like how quickly Caitlin is able to figure things out, and how each of them seems to be falling into a roll. And I like that their status quo is very unstable. It builds a great sense of alienation from the rest of their universe.

I was wondering, though, if Gen 13 is a threat to the multiverse, why Jennie didn't approach them herself? Given that I haven't read much of Jennie except in Brubaker's run on Authority, but it seems sending a group of super-powered adults to corral a group of super powered teens is a recipe for trouble. If I had to guess, I would say Jennie didn't know much beyond premonitions of a vague threat they represented and their general location. Does anyone else have better ideas?

Thanks for the great read, Gail!

I just read the issue. Was sooo good.

I am starting to like Gails Wildstorm books MORE than her DC books. And the new art team on Gen13 was great!

Thanks Gail, and thank you Carlo and Drew. The book really feels to be on track to something now. :)

Nice to see Midnighter not be a dick. Also, looking forward to the Tranquility crossover.

I haven't had a chance to get this issue yet, but I can't wait! I miss Talent's art a bit, but I'm looking forward to this new art team. This book has such heart- it's become one of my favorite reads lately.

After reading the issue...

I want to know the definition of Multiverse as defined by what "Gail can say"

There's a tease to the greater picture in the issue. I'm curious if this will be addressed.

See the problem is I'm not a continuity hound. Good Stories are goog stories. but if you're going to bring it up...

Midnighter could've been a little more badass. I would've loved to see him stomp an entire superteam of teenagers into the ground to show 'em how reckless they are. Would've made the "watch yourselves" point even sweeter.

Perhaps...but it would have made his "let's leave them alone" train of thought make less sense.

At that point, he was more of the attitude of "I don't really want to hurt you."

Had he curbstomped them with a big grin on his face, a sudden decision to back off is a bit more puzzling.

I just... *scratch* ...need my "Midnighter is a badass" fix, and it's been a couple months since he had open heart surgery while awake, so this was it (considering the ass kicking he took in his crossover with Grifter). I mean, yeah, it was cool and all, but more violence never hurt anyone!
