There's some 'behind-the-scenes' on this shot posted on his blog, along with more of his artwork from his upcoming creator-owned book Monoluminant. As I mentioned above, we're currently working on a project together, but it's a little too soon for details on that one. But keep an eye out ;)

Great stuff, Pirates! I find it interesting that many wonderful creators who deal in the more dark subject matter often cite Mike as a major influence, even though I've always kind of seen his work as darkly humorous and quite optomistic- in a strange way.
