Looks like they're missing the page where Wondra picks up Gargoyle and tapes him to a pole...or did I dream that.?.

Didn't see a post. Merge if possible.

The New Warriors are the mutants of the MU now, this book can be interesting. Although 4 teenage teams books (The Initative, YA and Runaways, not counting New X-men) at least one of them will feel redundant.

Yeah. I think Marvel took one look at how sucessful Young Avengers was and sort of ran with it.

I sort of wish the Initiative book was less about brand new young characters, and more about some of the under used C list characters in the Initiative. I was hoping it would be sort of like Justice League Unlimited. Not that what we got was bad... but like you argued, I wonder if there won't be some redundency.

You might also want to count Loners, even though its a mini.

Doesn't that woman in yellow look like April O'neil from the TMNT cartoon? You might want to add them to your list too cause where april goes, the turtles are never far behind. :)

Edited to add: I can understand your feeling XPAC, but a lot of what marvels trying to do is retain a younger audience that movies are bringing in. Characters with a lot of background baggage don't really do that. On the other hand, they've been introducing a lot of new, interesting characters into the MU.

I haven't counted Loners because it's a mini.

But Joe Q. said the only reason people read Young Avengers was because of Allan Heinberg...

i believe that children are the future. and i can't wait for this book to hit stands. the art is better than it is in Loners. Young Avengers might never see the light of day. and i don't read Runaways or New X-Men.

To be fair, he said it was the creative team of Allan and Jim Cheung's quality, and pointed out that there WAS no book before them, and that changing the formula (DiVeteo's fill-in issue) was a huge lapse in quality. He didn't say people read it because of Heinberg's name, but in part, to his writing.
