I'm still amused over this quote from Grant Morrison's recent 52-exit interview at Newsarama:
I'd also like to point out here that my character the Bulleteer CANNOT FLY! Repeat BULLETEER CANNOT FLY!
I checked this morning and she was definitely in the air in WWIII Issue 4, and I believe I've seen the character aloft elsewhere.
What are the best and/or funniest reasons why the Bulleteer now appears to be a flying character?
Here's what I've come up with so far:
Pixie Dust!
A little bit of Nth Metal got mixed in with the goop that gave her powers
She clocked some poor time-lost Legionaire and stole their flight ring. You'll find Matter-Eater Lad bound and gagged if you open up her closet door.
Colossus is performing the ol' "fastball special" but he always has to be off-panel because Levitz hates Quesada
Firestorm transmuted her ample bosum into helium
She's taken the lyrics of that old R. Kelly song to heart. She can also 'touch the sky' if necessary
The Bulleteer in those scenes is actually Martian Manhunter. Says J'onn "when I'm in the form of the Bulleteer, I feel positively foxy - like the seventh Pussycat Doll. Plus I get a lot of attention from both Nightwing and Batwoman. Nice!"
A great big magnet!
That's not flying - it's falling with style!
Bendis ghost-wrote those scenes
That's the Bulleteer of Earth 26. Duh!
Red Bull gave her wings
She failed to read her own entry in Wikipedia. Doesn't anyone do research anymore?
Don't worry, we'll fix it in the Hardcover.
What are your suggestions?
The best one gets you the DC equivalent of the "No-Prize", i.e. you become the new writer of "Hawkgirl".
