I just bought this: http://www.hasbro.com/default.cfm?page=browse&product_id=18039
for $20 at Wal-Mart. Was that a good deal?

Oh hell yes. Optimus Prime is always worth that sort of money. At least.

No. That was a fucking awesome deal.
I still need to get my hands on the Powermaster Prime re-issue.

Had the same thing happen in my store. The two OP figures(same one) went clearance, and sold at a discounted price,AND 50% off of that as well. Well under 30 dollars. My only regret is i did not get one,but oh well.

I think I'm going to open it. I'd let you play with it if you ever came over anymore. You can come visit it any time. ;)

Speaking of good deals, I once got a handjob from a Scandinavian drag-queen.
Cost me two bucks.
What? I thought we were sharing.
Fine! Be that way! Jerks!

It even says quotes from the movie. AND it includes not only the matrix, but a Megatron laser cannon. AND a stand.
Was really well done.

From a collectors point of view I don't think it' a good deal. If Walmart has it I don't think it will ever become rare which means it will never appreciate in value. That said it does look cool and you can't put a price on how you will feel every time you view the piece.

For only $20? Rock and roll.
I wonder when they'll have the National Guardsman Optimus Prime (http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_fullstory.asp?id=3828) figure.

Well, that's not really a collector's point of view so much as it is a reseller's point of view, isn't it? The original Masterpiece Prime (http://www.oafe.net/yo/tf_20prime.php) went for about 100 beans, and you just can't beat an 80% discount...

I'm guessing the bike (http://www.oafe.net/yo/tfe_rc.php) just doesn't cut it for you?
I remember seeing a fan-made version a few months ago that was truly inspiring, but I, too, am holding out hope that some day we'll see a "real" version...

To be fair, you only saw him from behind in that episode.

Ok all. Since NO ONE ELSE will do this:
Hurricane has decided to go with the Collector 20th anniversary Optimus Prime instead of what was in his briefcase.
(Goes over to the brief case, opens it : $1,000,000)
You made a poor deal,Hurricane. But i do hope you and Opty will be happy together! (The Turtles start playing). :D

It's ok, Howie. Optimus Prime is more than what I came here with. I came here to win and I'm going home with SOMEthing!
