View Full Version : Current List of Living Mutants

Please let me know if this has been done before, I searched and didn't find anything.
I was reading New X-Men the other day and realized there were still alot of very interesting, lesser-known mutants around after M-Day that I was unfamiliar with.
So, I thought it would be cool to try and figure out a complete list of the 198 powered mutants (or however many there are now)... and a list of the relevant (currently) de-powered mutant characters.
I am guessing on a few of these, since I haven't heard tale of them since the House of M, 198 mini, or Academy-X.
Here goes, I'm going need lots of help!

You're missing some students, like Trance, Bling and Onnyx. Also, Juggernaut is not a mutant.

I don't get the point of this thread. I just posted all the powered mutants at this point, and you can assume all other characters are either depowered, dead, or where never mutants to begin with.

Yeah, but your list doesn't differentiate between death or depowered. So quit being such a pessimistic patty.

He's homo-supreme, not homo-superior. And such, not a mutant.
I am sure someone will take that tangentially.
Also, I think a bunch of people on your list are artificial mutants, or mutates.

Mister Immortal is a mutant. IIRC, his team called themselves the Great Lakes X-Men because the team was composed of mutants at the moment. He was called a Homo Supreme, but only once or twice, as opposed to spending most of his duration as a mutant.

IIRC, in Great Lakes X-Mas Special, he was depressed after M-Day and spent hours on the internet researching mutants.
He found he was no longer a "mutant", but an evolutionary step after that (though, not as far as say, the High Evolutionary).

Threnody
Not sure if she's going to show up anytime soon, but Marvel went out of their way to include her in the "Marvel Universe" comic the other week. And according to them she still has her powers, the baby is Nate's and their whereabouts are unknown.
Given her history with Sinister and the fact that her baby is the only 3rd generation Summers I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up (hopefully not to be killed tho)

Yeah, I've been waiting on sme kind of explanation of this for quite some time. I guess it depends upon whoever wants to pick up on it.
The first 3rd generation Summers kid. That's a pretty big deal.

I'm hoping its a baby girl, not that I'm biased ;), but given how much "importance" Both Nate and Cable were given it'd feel right balance that with a female character (especially given how much more powerful Jean is than Scott)
But I think what'd be really interesting would be to see IF this baby had powers, what would they be? Her father was an Omega TK/TP and her mother can feed off death energy
(My personal theory is that Threnody can't really die since she feeds off death energy if she were close to death she'd feed off her own death energy and wouldn't be able to die)

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
So now it's not good enough to be just a mutant anymore?
In one fell swoop, Marvel makes all its mutants look like outdated models....
The editor that approved that should be fired.
I've got a thread going at ComixFan.

Heh? If he's evolved into something beyond, doesn't that still mean he's got certain genetic traits that aren't there in his parents, making him a born mutant? It doesn't change that, right?
And the list of living mutants is dwindling fast. The writers keep killing them off.

we don't need to destroy Rachel just her offspring,:) im not a big fan of abortions but in her case i would make an exception or just rip out her uterus or give her ovarian cancer, oh crap i hope i don't come off as sounding to mean...:D
