Actually, I think I did have a friend who bought an imported copy of Tsukihime at a con or online, then got the patch. I myself have bought Melty Blood, but I confess that I had already downloaded it. Actually, a friend installed it for me to try and I never took it off.

Your friend did? How much did he pay for it? Tsukihime is extremely rare, about $200 at least.

While I admit that I didn't buy Fate/Stay Night, I do buy games to support the companies. I bought Kanon and Air back when it was $90 each(only to watch the price drop to $20-30 six months later)Wind-A Breath of Heart cd-(I downloaded the dvd version for the translation patch)
Eternal Fighter Zero, Glove on Fight, and Planetarium at the key web site.

A little history and salesmanship...

I first encountered Fate Stay Night a few years back while browsing the CG section of boyis.com. The pics caught my eye for a few reasons...

- It looked like there was a story going on.
- Very nice art and char designs. (It's a small thing, but I like how Rin's hands line up with the gaps between her skirt and socks, forming a horizontal band of skin :P Also the red upper body, black lower body color grouping.)

- Multiple distinctive male characters! Archer's costume looked especially stylish. (Well, besides the excessive pants straps. They're more noticeable when he isn't wearing the red parts.)

Some time later I found a website with plot summaries, and it turned out there was a neat story going on. Now with the Fate path translated, it's great to be able to finally read a third of the full-length version ^_^

Well, the translation for the second route, Unlimited Blade Works, finally came out, and with a voice patch :)

Thoughts and reactions:

Ironically, Rin and Shirou have less contact early on than in Fate route. He didn't even see her in plainclothes for the longest time, although the reaction was worth it :)

Lancer is awesome. Well, anyone that smacks Shinji around gets some bonus points in my book :p

Lots and lots of interludes compared to Fate route.

UBW Good End is tricky to get... Cozying up to Saber is all well and good, but keeping the Rin points under control takes some care.

Love the voices, particularly Taiga's (besides the main cast's).

Next up is Heaven's Feel. Can't say I'm a huge Sakura fan, but I look forward to it :)

A friend keeps telling me to check out Fate Stay Night. He jokingly described it as, King Arthur travels through time to the present to give a Japanese schoolboy a blowjob. He says somehow it makes sense.

Meanwhile, I haven't check out the game, anime, or manga, but I do have a number of Rider figures as I love the design of the character.

My roommate was telling me this today. He started playing this 'path'. He was previously playing or reading antoher series called Choas Head. He said somehow it's much newer than Fate Stay Night, yet got released much quicker.

Whew, finally finished it.

HF's Normal End absolutely kills me :frown: Mixing it with my usual post-ending funk was downright debilitating. I had to go back and replay True End to relieve the heartache.

Well, I've come away with a better appreciation of Sakura, and meek domestic girls in general. (Partly at the expense of Rin and tsunderes in general, since she was pretty cold at times in this route.)

Well, I look forward to Fate/Hollow Ataraxia's translation :smile: I think a different group is working on that one.

In the meantime, I can go back and get all the Tiger Stamps from Fate route. (I was thorough the first time through, but the UBW installer nuked my Fate gamesaves D:)

I have been playing this for some days, but I just can't bring myself to be interested about Heaven's Feel.

UBW was too awesome (specially due to Rin being my favorite character together with Archer), and from spoilers all over the web it seems I'm in for a disappointment with Sakura's route. Specially because Shirou abandons his ideal for her, and all the servants job to the Shadow.

My friend got me into this and I'm already at the climax of Unlimited Blade Works. I just love how much Archer shines in this story.

Any word of them translating Fate/Hollow?

I'm currently watching the anime. Just starting, around Ep. 5, since I'm also busy with GunXSword and Slayers Revolution. Reminds me a lot of the latter half of My-HiME.

I've been a victim of four llya bad ends. I've seen the "I'm a head" bad end. I find her frighting but not creepy. Kotomine Kirei and Matou Zuken are creepy. llya is one scary kid!
