I liked Lady Maxima in that she wasn't your typical hero OR villain, and her character/costume design rocks hard. A super-powered alien ruler who has the ego you'd expect such a being to have, and the vanity that you'd expect such a being to have... but who isn't EVIL, per se, just with a non-perfect personality (like most people).

She's a nice contrast to Wonder Woman, I found (like Black Adam is to Captain Marvel).

DCU needs more characters like her, and they should definitely bring her back (via one of the other 52 universes if necessary).

Yeah I have no clue why, but I liked her as well. I'm guessing because she was different from most other Superman allies/villains.

I wouldn't say I miss her, but I definitely think she had potential for some good stories. Which is why I hate characters being killed off, some writers seem to think that just because they can't think of a use for a character, no one else will later on.

As for Maxima, I like her both in the cartoons and in the few comics that I have her in. I'd just give her a redesign along the lines of the Bruce Timm version which does look more Kirby'ish.

I always felt Maxima to be one of the few good, original Superman villains created post-Crisis. Most of the others were either lame (like the ones who eventually joined forces as the (post-Crisis) Superman Revenge Squad- Riot, Hellgramite, etc.) or were intriguing but didn't seem to be right for Superman (like Silver Banshee.) I agree that she had potential; she made a great foil for Superman (and Lois!) and she should be brought back one of these days (and probably will.)

I have to agree here, I stopped buying Supes issues a number of years ago because it seemed like the writers taking him on had him fighting the dumbest villains. I thought Maxima stories were interesting, true you can't show her every issue, but there is so great long story arc potential.

I loved Maxima, and I still agree with you about her story potential.

The idea of an alien queen who wanted to beat the crap out of Superman until he married her was fantastic to me. And they ran with it a good two, three stories. But really, that's where it had to end. When Maxima is going after him the seventh, eighth, ninth time, she stops being obsessive and amusing and goes to pathetic.

And her time in the Justice League didn't do her any favors, as they stripped away everything alien and queen-like about her and made her just another super-chick.

Seriously, I liked the Dini/Timm look for her, especially the voice actress Sharon Lawrence(looked it up on imdb.com). She gave her an arrogant, pushy personality that worked the the character.

I loved Maxima's design and still to this day refuse to believe it was her and not one of her Simulacrums that died. Maxima's origins are very interesting. She is an alien aristocrat who was literally bred for power and to rule. She has a LOT of superpowers (Superstrength, Invulnerability, flight, a host of psionic powers, Magnetic powers, and more) of varying levels, hyperadvanced technology, legions of royal warriors at her command, and a mean Darwinian streak. Not to mention that crazy asymmetrical green and yellow costume! (Perez design rules!)

She was wasted by scribes and greatly diminished for a long time and given a poor sendoff.

I say let her awesome third eye having servant Sazu wake her up and have Almerac attack earth.

And hey, bring D'ecine and the Borg-like superscary Spider Guild with her.
