Just saw this on eBay. I'm not sure if I should be posting it or not, considering it's an item that technically isn't for sale yet...but I thought some people here might be interested.

I personally don't want that ugly yellow thing on the front of the cover, that's why I passed. I'd rather wait and get a real one.

Is this a fake? I'm surprised that advance copies are already available for a book that isn't out for another four months.

I think it is real. It has that yellow marker on the front. And a yellow section on the back that looks to be related to it being an advanced copy.

But the low start price is kind of suspicious...but it just started so who knows.

I imagine it's real.

I suppose it could be photoshopped.

The Mignolas would know.

Advanced Reading Copies (ARC, http://books.search.ebay.com/arc_Books_W0QQcatrefZC12QQfromZR40QQsacatZ267) are my preferred edition of books because I like large softcovers that preceed when a HC is first published.)

I'm 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999% sure this auction is for one that is real. Totally kosher to be on eBay by now-- they send ARCs out pretty early, sometimes even half a year, to start buzz.

Whoa! Cooooooooolllll!!! Thanks, Jonell.

And yet frustrating! I really want to see it, but I'm going to have to wait until it becomes regularly available.

Ug, if it's all good to go, why must they torture us for months! :p

Maybe they'll have advance copies at SDCC. One can always hope.

Thanks, Alz made it for me-- he knows it kills me everytime I see that scene in the ad!

HAHAHAHA! Oh I had not seen that ad before (we don't have Comcast here). Heee.

And thanks to DannyBoy for turning up this ebay auction in the first place. It's pretty exciting that this book is out there already. Eeek!

I wish the yellow on the front and back cover didn't bug me or I'd bid on this. I really want to read it!

But I am a big fan of hardcover though too. It's a love hate relationship. I'm cheap but I like expensive things ;)

Off topic side note: with the head of the sentry and the body of spiderman you could make yourself a comcast spiderman figure.

Adjustments to the artwork on Baltimore are going on now so whatever is on the eBay item is not going to be a decent representation of Mike's work. Bidders beware!

And with 150 illustrations, the visuals are really part of the narrative.

Good to know! Now I don't feel so bad about being unlikely to lay my mitts on a copy.

Wow! That's a lot of art. I can't wait!

What I find most ironic about all of this, is that is says "Not for Resale" right on the damned cover. :o

So now we know what the Comic-Con giveaway is going to be! 2 limited edition posters and samplers of the book. Sounds awesome! Can't wait for July...

ARC's are weird. I've seen some that come out at least six months before the release date. I received copies of Baltimore and Warren Ellis' Crooked Little Vein last week and have been waiting to have enough free time to read them both.
